Best Italian Beef in town. Its the only thing I have ever eaten there and even though I have heard everything is great I just cant deviate from this one. I’ve gotta see their new location downtown.
It’s great. I love Worker’s Takeout. Fortunately, it is close to where I work. It can be a little hard to find the first time, but it is worth the effort. Also, don’t go on a bank holiday. Since they are in the old 1st National Bank building, they will not be open. I have done that twice. You order your sandwich at the counter and they call your name when it is ready. I find it difficult to read the overhead menu. The print is pretty small. They usually have a few printed copies of the menu on the counter which are much easier to read. If you can’t make up your mind, order the Cuban Pork Roast. It is my favorite. I had been to Worker’s Takeout several times before I decided to try the Cuban.I always hesitated ordering it because I am not a big mustard or pickle fan. The Cuban has both. Well, let me tell you, that sandwich is great and it wouldn’t be the same without the mustard and pickles. Another one of my favorites is the Spicy Tuna Melt. It is a different twist on Tuna Salad.I like ordering the soup of the day and 1/2 pressed sandwich. The 1/2 sandwich is only $3 when you get the soup. There are still several other sandwiches I want to try including the Chicago Dog and the Buffalo Turkey, but it may be a while since I like the other 2 sandwiches so much. Take the time to find them. I think you will be glad you did.
Awesome sandwiches!!! try the texas cavier. its da bomb!
Hot Italian Beef (I’m not a pervert, i swear)). Holy glorious move!!! Worker’s Takeout is in the heart of the downtown business district. A little hard to find if you don’t frequent the area, this place is worth GPS-ing. The Italian Beef sandwich is the best of the 3 sandwiches I have tried. My only complaint is that they are constantly running out of certain meats right at lunchtime. The side of chips is also a bit scant, but the real story is in the sandwich anyways. Give it a visit.
Never again, went to the saddlecreek location before. They serve parts as parts, low quality meat. If you melt cheese over crap I guess most people won’t notice the difference. Sorry but I do!
Simply Amazing. There isn’t an item on the menu that isn’t completely delicious. The tuna and the pork are my absolute favorites. The staff are all extremely nice and highly entertaining! Just go try it, you will become an addict like me.
Not sure why this place is suddenly closed…. …but it makes me (and I’m sure many others) very sad. 🙁 Hope they can re-open someday soon!06 Jun, 2010Inexpensive and very tasty!. Sandwiches are great…the Italian beef just might be my favorite – the dipping au jus is wonderful! But I have also tried their Cuban and their Buffalo turkey, and both are also excellent. You pay barely more than you would at McDonald’s for lunch, but the quality and taste are, of course, in an entirely different league. It’s a small place, with usually a very small staff, so you might have a bit of a wait, but usually not too bad and it’s totally worth it.
