Came in here tonight after a long day of travelling. The restaurant is in a small plaza and shares space with several other restaurants. The place was virtually deserted when I entered; only one other table occupied and two staff members present. Service was perfunctory – not rude but not particularly courteous. It was just okay. The food was quick from the kitchen and served hot. Unfortunately the enchiladas I ordered were so heavily coated in sauce and sour cream that the flavor was lost. It wasn’t bad, and wasn’t particularly good. It was just okay. The price was reasonable – about $20 for dinner and a couple of beers. Also on the plus side was the menu which carries a wide range of options – something for everyone.Ultimately, the bottom line is that this was a quintessentially average experience. Nothing was bad but nothing was really memorable either. I am sure I’d be fine eating there again although neither can I think of a reason why I’d specifically want to.

Excellant food at a Great Price. I pass thru Grand Island # or 4 times a year and I have tried the other mexican resturants close to I-80. This place has great homemade chorizo. My entire family commented that this is some of the tastiest mexican food we have ever had. I recommend passing up the Mexican resturants closer to the highway and coming here. Well worth the extra 5 minute drive from the highway.

New kid on the strip. This newer Mexican restaurant, which replaced another Mexican restaurant, offers high quality Mexican food at rock bottom prices. They also have beer, wine and delicious margaritas at low prices as well. The complimentary chips and salsa are good. The menu is huge, and offers the standard items you would expect…mostly pork, beef and chicken tacos, burritos and enchiladas, but also about a dozen seafood items (tilapia and shrimp seasoned and cooked various ways), You are sure to find something interesting. The beans and rice served with my mango tilapia were excellent, and the fish was cooked perfectly. The mango salsa that dressed it was a highlight. Most luncheon items are less than $8, but you can order from the entire menu at lunch.Service on my visit was super friendly, and quick. The place was moderately busy, which is a sign that La Cabana is catching on with the locals.
