Foods cooked over wood usually have superior taste, and that is what Whiskey Creek advertises their food to be. Unfortunately, whether it is poor cooking or the poor use of seasonings and inferior recipes, I came away quite disappointed in my dinner.I started off with a Boulevard wheat beer And the daily soup special. At least the beer was good. The tortilla soup was without doubt the worst example of that genre I have ever tasted. It had the consistency of an overly thick beer cheese soup, which no tortilla soup should ever have. And there was next to no southwest flavor. And my combo dinner of burnt ends and pulled pork was completely sub par. The burnt ends were too mushy, and overly sauced. And the pulled pork was even worse. It was over cooked and under seasoned, and had almost no taste. At least the slices of white bread that each meat rested upon were tasty. Finally, the side of baked beans, while the best part of the meal, were nonetheless overly sweet. Even the complimentary loaf of bread served with my meal, while very nice in appearance, possessed little in the way of flavor. All in all the meal was a dud.Service was friendly, and fast, but far from professional. The atmosphere looks like it is in desperate need of a remodel. There are so many better places to eat in Grand Island. Cross Whiskey Creek off your list.

BBQ Sensei Speaks. My wife and I ate at the Whiskey Creek in Grand Island this past weekend. I KNOW RIBS. The manager told us about the baby back ribs falling off the bone. He even said if we didn’t think they were the best he would buy us dessert. Well he was right! No dessert for us:( We will be back!!
