  I went with some girlfriends to enjoy the rooftop. Loved the atmosphere. After that, not impressed. My friends buffalo chicken sandwich was two chicken strips on a hoagie bun. My spinach artichoke dip was pretty flavorless. Our waitress was slow (it was a slow Tuesday, so she shouldn’t have been) didn’t know the menu, and didn’t know the beers. My friend asked if they had any craft beers on tap: after a blank stare, the waitress replies that she could put a stella from a bottle in a pint glass for her. Then she asked if my friend wanted a straw with her beer! What?!?!?!?!?Also, the outfits they make these poor girls wear…. School girl outfits. I’m not offended but was a bit surprised. If I wanted to see butts hanging out of outfits I would have gone to twin peaks or tilted kilt. Maybe if Barry’s spent more time training their waitstaff instead of auditioning them for how good they looked in a micro mini skirt, I’d be more forgiving on this point. We would have stayed and drank longer than we did but the service and the disappointing food were a definite turn off.

  Great Design – Average Food. I love the new exterior look of Barry’s, so I thought I’d go inside and try the food. In the past it has been slightly better than average and I was hoping the food improved as much as the exterior design. It didn’t. In fact it was average to below average. Ordered the Barry’s Burger and fries. The burger was overlooked and dry. The fries were bland and just your standard frozen then fried fare. I’ll likely give Barry’s another chance because I want to see this Lincoln landmark succeed. But they need match their great looks with their food or this restaurant redesign won’t win in Lincoln.
