Folks there is no service at M&N sandwich you go there for a seriously good Chicago Style Italian Beef sandwich and you put into your mouth the juiciest mouth watering sandwich ever so what if it is 1200 calories you will love it.
My last review appears to have been deleted. Granted it was likely 8 years ago. I love the food at M&N but I haven’t been there in years, mostly because of the owner, who complains when you’re the only customer he has, or complains when someone comes in who isn’t a regular customer, or complains (which is every time) when he doesn’t like the way you order. Seriously incredible sandwiches that are out-weighed by the awful service. I took the abuse for many years and introduced M&N to many friends. I just can’t bring myself to go back. I LOVE the Italian beef sandwich.
Good sandwiches, but prepare yourself for awful service. The old guy working made it seem like a chore to take my order. He was extremely rude to my girlfriend and I because we weren’t familiar with the menu. Completely unacceptable by anyone’s standards. It’s too bad. I won’t be going back.
Soup Nazi Makes Pastrami Sandwiches. His politics make Atilla the Hun seem like a boy scout, but he can make a sandwich. Do not plan of any ambience unless you like flourescent lights, and bus station vibe, BUT with that said, the man can make a sandwich and actually is a first class guy below his hard East Coast personna.
I have NEVER had such bad service. I really hate to complain about a family run store, but I had the worst experience going here. My friend and I were looking for a sub sandwich and decided to try this restuarant out. When we walked in pretty much all we saw were salami and pastrami sandwiches so we decided not to eat there. While we were walking out we just told the owner (I suspect) that it wasn’t what we were looking for right now. He freaked out and started yelling at us. He told us that we weren’t allowed to go back there and that we were pathetic… etc..etc.. He told us to leave and never come back… just because we decided not to eat there. HORRIBLE customer service. I wouldn’t recommend giving that guy your money.
My friend did not understand Norm’s questions, which seemed to annoy him. That alone wouldn’t have spoiled my experience, as good customer service isn’t always necessary if the food is good. However, my sandwich was pretty disappointing. I could tell the ingredients were good, but the sandwich was nuked to the point of being rubbery and I could barely bite through it. I don’t feel the need to return.
Search succeeded. I have been looking for a good pastrami sandwich. these people exceed my desire. I love the Pastrami sandwich. Price seems right, too.
