Wow an Acid Rock Bar that pretends to be Irish, at least according to the barmaid serving drinks 7/1 night. After ordering dinner, we were subjected to listening to 5 songs from Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots The White Strips and Beck I requested of our server some more music like the the Mumford and Sons we had heard as we sat down, to which he got one going after another acid Rock selection only to have the uppity bar maid turn it off not 30 seconds into the song replacing with another Nirvana tune. Real Irish experience maybe if they are an incredibly selfish and rude people, I doubt it, folk type Irish music like I would expect at an Irish pub. That will be our last visit to a regular spot on our list
Fantastc Irish stew, plenty of Jameson, and an excellent selection of Irish beers. Also… they stock my favorite scotch; Lagavulin 16 yr and Laphroaig 10 yr. My favorite pub in Lincoln!
Hobelman Family. Not able to stay, no place to sit in your restaurant if you are in a wheel chair. All tables & booths are elevated. Needs to be made accessible to guests in wh/chairs. Not hard to do, just lower a couple of booths or the tables by the windows in the front. If you care make a change.
Erin Go Bragh!. McFarland’s is a perfect example of what an Irish Pub should look and taste like. The restaurant/bar is handsome, with a rather long, narrow bar on the west wall, and ample booth seating along the east wall. The menu contains many Irish favorites. I sampled the Irish stew, and loved every bite of it. It came with a slice of Irish soda bread, that truth be told didn’t look all that appetizing. But my, oh my, it was delicious! The stew itself was loaded with beef and veggies. It had a wonderful, meaty flavor. The pub also has a decent selection of Irish and British beers. Prices were very reasonable, for both beer and food.Service was fast and unobtrusive. This is a very nice addition to the Haymarket.
