Usually Great but missed the mark today!. I have always had such consistently great service at Green Gateau. It has always been one of my favorite places to go with friends for Lunch or Brunch to catch up. However, today was a very poor experience. I called a couple of hours in advance to make a reservation for 3 and we showed up on time for the reservation. We were told they were busy and running behind but we were ahead of most of the other people on the list so it shouldn’t be too long before we were seated. We waited >40 minutes to be seated and two of us our 6+ months pregnant and the other one of us was so hungry she was getting light headed. They seated probably more than 12-15 people ahead of us or at least 4 or more groups of people AHEAD of us. It would have been nice to get a realistic estimate on our wait time so we could have asked for some water or tea to tide us over. Also it would have been nice to have been offered a complimentary drink, muffin or appetizer for the extreme inconvenience. I was extremely disappointed with our experience as it was a birthday outing for my friend and she had never been to Green Gateau before. Very Disappointed!!!

This place has good food. the service was great. I had a good lunch there. they have some good deserts, too. I was pleased to be served very promptly and politely. some times this can be hard to find for solo person, to get service. these people were very good. they allowed me time to enjoy my meal, and were very at tentative to see if I got every thing I needed. too bad I don’t have time to get that far away from work. I normally, am working during the day. this place was worth while for my treat, on a day off.

Every time we come to Lincoln, the Green Gateau is on the top of our list. Great food and service, accommodating for kids (though very much an adult restaurant). I highly recommend!

Last night my wife and I wanted something different for dinner so we thought we’d try somewhere in the haymarket. Well Zach Brown was at the pinnacle and nowhere to park. We’d heard of the Green Gateau from friends so we ended up there. Great meal and service. My new fav in Lincoln. Can’t believe anyone would complain about the prices because I thought they were reasonable.

Love the food, and the service! The burgers are great, the soups, sandwiches, and salads are awesome and the brunch is the best in town. I also love the strawberry spritzer.

Good Food. My wife and I arrived at 7 pm on a Friday evening. We were immediately seated by a friendly hostess. Our waitress was at our table very quickly to take our drink order. She brought our drinks and took our starter order promptly. She then returned to take our meal order. My wife ordered the Cordon Blue Casserole and i order the tenderloin special. The starter arrived in short order. Our waitress was back and forth to our table, she was very attentive. The food arrived in a timely manner. My wife enjoyed her Cordon Blue casserole. As a side she got the hand cut fries. They were plentiful and tasty however they did not stay warm for very long due to the their thinness. I had a cup of Lobster Bisque that was fabulous. The starter, shrimp lollipops, was very good. My tenderloin was served on a bead of mash. The temperature was perfect, medium rare. The meal was warm but not overly hot. The taste was good, however the tenderloin was a bit under-seasoned.. Overall we had a very enjoyable evening, good food and great atmosphere. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quaint place to have a quiet good quality meal.

REAL GOOD FOOD. Never had a disappointing meal there. We don’t go very often because of the price but it is worth every penny.
