The idea behind Vega’s haute dogs and gourmet burgers is slightly odd, but actually not too bad. Who would’ve thought about putting pad Thai on a hamburger or hot dog? The bar menu is great and full of choices. I wanted a Woodchuck, which they were out of, but the bartender recommended something of similar taste and it was great. I ordered a South by South west brat which came on a hoagie bun, which was way too much excess bread, with a little bit of coleslaw, a partial slice of bacon, and BBQ sauce. My bun fell apart making it difficult and messy to eat. The brat was good, but nothing spectacular. I don’t think it was worth the $8. If you wanted a side it cost another $2 (if you got a hot dog or hamburger) and you didn’t get very much of it. I would’ve liked to have seen actual gourmet buns to go with the gourmet food. I think that would’ve made it a whole lot better.
