Beef lover’s dream. During a work trip to central Nebraska, I planned my travel to get a couple of opportunities to sample the award winning burgers at the Cellar. They use Certified Angus Beef which is an expensive and high quality cut of beef often found in fine steakhouses. See the below link for reference on beef grades.http://www.certifiedangusbeef.com/brand/grades.phpI was able to try their Western burger and Jalapeno burger. Both excellent. The burgers are cooked on an open flame and you get that back yard BBQ taste. The best way to describe their burgers is to imagine a burger with the finest quality ingredients, cooked perfectly, and presented in imaginative combinations. The burger had a wonderful, big beefy flavor. The bun was bakery quality and perfectly complimented the burger. The Jalapeno burger was my favorite with the perfect amount of heat and a subtle chipotle flavor. I think I could eat here every night for a week and not get bored with sampling the burgers, steak, and prime rib.Only 3 miles off the interstate, worth a quick detour anytime your passing Kearney on I-80.

My first impression of this place was a ‘local hot spot’ which proved true. I’m not quite sure what all the hype is about the onion rings … Too floury of batter for me. Other than that the food was ok, don’t order wine as it was not the best. Dress is casual, but they come across as trying to be something more.

My Advice. Overall not a bad place, the onion rings and cheese balls are great my favorite of the two the onion rings you cant go wrong. I usually get a burger there got to say doesnt tase seasoned just needs some salt a pepper before cooked along witht he fries were not seasoned. I have to say they have a huge meanu and viriety, quite confusing from American to Italian to seafood then to mexican. I would stick with the American burger and steak idea maybe add some comfort food you can use local beef, chicken, pork and local fresh produce.

Very good burgers. Love the burgers, Love the onion rings, Love the fried pickles, Love the atmosphere, avoid their take on mexican food

Good food and laid back atmosphere. The Cellar is a throw back of the 80’s, it’s a dimly lit place that would be a good place to take either the family or a date Great service and the food is really good, I have to say that we have tried the items that they are noted for and they are a must try The Onion Rings are very good (But different then most), alittle on the sweet side but very tasty. I had a family gathering here and none of us left disappointed.

Bake potatoes and soup are always cold! Steak & prime rib very fatty! Only reason we go back is the onion rings .
