Disappointing meals. Stopped for the night in Kearney, NE during a work trip on 6/28/14. When asking for a local steak place was told with high praise that The Cellar was a great place, awesome steaks and very good onion rings. We were seated right away and ordered the onion rings for an appetizer, my meal was the sirloin ordered medium rare and steamed veggies. Travel coworker ordered steak and shrimp with fries and seafood chowder. The soup came out before the onion rings and when they came out they were very under cooked, which should have been obvious to the cook and even the server. When our meals arrived both our steak were at least one level more done than ordered but as the server didn’t come back by for over 15 minutes we ate as we were tired and didn’t want to wait for thus to be fixed. The server never asked his our food was and after paying our checks (this took over 10 minutes for our cards to be run) I advised that though she never asked both of our steaks were over cooked. Had already told her about the onion rings and she did say she appreciated my honesty with the feedback on the meal. I intentionally did not say anything BEFORE paying the check as we did eat most of our food and we were not looking for free/comped meals. If my work brings me through Keanrey again I will not visit The Cellar again.
