Weekend lunch. Our meal was just okay. Prices were what you would expect for a good quality Mexican restaurant, however food just not quite up to par. Service was decent, employees did not seem too engaged.
I originally wanted to go here because I have been to the one in omaha. Unfortunately the only thing worth speaking about was the complimentary chips and salsa. The place was loud. The wayit is set up with the booths it is like you are in the middle if the conversations of the people on either side. The fajitas were extremely greasy and cold when they arrived. They must use preshredded cheese instead of queso fresco or something that melts appropriately. Please save yourself the headaches.
OK not great. Recommended by hotel staff. I arrived at the restraint, no host or hostess, I waited for 4 to 5 minutes before a waitress came to me and said it would be a minute. I was seated and waited looking at the menu, finished that and then the waiter finally arrived and took my drink order. Chips and salsa came good taste not great, corn chips were good and hot but needed more salt. I ordered, finished chips and salsa sat drinking adult beverage. Food arrived, side order of beans was cold cheese on them was melted but they were below room temp. Enchilada meat was very good shell was not soft or hard but at a rubbery middle state. Relino was good but could have been chrispier Taco shell was same odd texture. waiter barely stopped at the table, I had to flag down to get salsa. I was excited to try the place, but will not recommend it or be back in the future of my travels. Please take this for what it is worth, but I eat at many restraunts while traveling for work, this would definitely fall in my bottom 10%
Worst dining experience I have ever had. I am a server. I understand restaurants and the flow and how crazy things can be when a restaurant is packed. My dining experience at El Potrero in Kearney was so horrible, I will never be back. The server was mean, he leaned against the wall and watched me walk to the bar to get my own margarita, and water refills for the table. The food came, the vegetables were still frozen, my fajitas were cold, and gristly. There was a line of people waiting to complain. Worst of all, the manager wasn’t willing to make it right. He wanted us to pay for our meal and promised we could have a different waiter next time. I ended up tipping a kind gentleman who wasn’t our waiter, he got us water refills and actually cleared our plates. We actively warned people outside the restaurant, I have never done that before, I can’t imagine I ever will again. No dining experience, ever, has been this bad.
Sucks. Their food is bad and the music is too loud and the staff is rude!
Decent experience. This attractive, spacious restaurant features standard Mexican menu items. The food is good, but really nothing special. They have daily specials in addition to their lengthy menu, which include lower priced lunch specials. There are better Mexican options in Kearney.
Shrimp Nachos!! Yummy!! Great dish to share.
