Went in the day after Christmas and had no trouble finding a table. Our waitress was great- friendly, prompt and knew the menu. My companion ordered the Hunters Spatzle and called it a unique dish that you can’t find just anywhere. It was quite good. I had the Blatt Mac- macaroni and cheese with fancy cheese and panko crumbs. It was gooey and good.

Please stop bringing your children here. This is a gastropub and a beer bar and not a family restaurant. There are much more appropriate places to feed your young kids. Seriously, why would anyone walk into a place like this and ask for a high chair or a kids menu?!Now, that said…I really like the look and feel of the place. Omaha has been a little behind other metro areas of similar size when it comes to gastropubs. It’s nice to see more and more of them in Omaha and it’s especially nice to see that someone realized a gastropub doesn’t have to be downtown or midtown to succeed (though Blatt does have a downtown location too). For appetizers, I’ve had their Bavarian Pretzel Bites and their Sour Cream & Chive Potato Chips. They are both very good. I’d like a few more pretzel bites (you get about 10 bites which is the equivalent of about two cut-up breadsticks). The German rosemary mustard the pretzel bites come with was very tasty as was the Gruyre fondue they’re also served with. The potato chips are very tasty, but then I’m a sucker for homemade potato chips. I wish both appetizers were available in a bottomless option so I could sit there and try different craft beers while snacking with abandon. The Manhandler is good, but not what I was expecting from a portion perspective. It’s a hot sandwich served on a bun. You get smoked pulled pork and smoke kielbasa sausage with onions and some of their BBQ sauce. I just wish the portioning was bigger. If you walk into a BBQ restaurant and ordered a pulled pork sandwich you typically get so much that’s it’s falling off of the bun. Here, you get very little and just a few slices of kielbasa too. It was a good sandwich, but they need to double the meat on it.The Backyard Burger is very good. $1.50 to add bacon is pretty normal, but a $1.50 for a slice of cheese was amusingly overpriced. It’s a very tasty burger and probably one of my favorite burgers in Omaha. If I spend too much time deciding what I want to eat and my dining partners are getting annoyed with me, then this is my quick go to as I know it’s always good.I usually get fries for the side with my entres. They make their own fries (no frozen product from Sysco here) and they’ve very good. I always ask for mine extra crispy and they always comply with that request.Of course, they also have a great selection of beer. Overall, I really like the place and will definitely be back to try their rotating selection of beers and their yummy food.Service is very friendly and attentive.

Amazing! Had the pulled pork on jalapeo cornbread waffle with fries. It was all delicious!! They need to sell their bbq sauce, my new favorite! Definitely will be returning.

Bar food served thoughtfully and elegantly. Menu items may remind you of a typical bar but they’re done in a very gourmet fashion with unique thought out ingredients. Their claim to fame is very large variety of beers on tap all of which the bartender is well knowledgeable on and happy to recommend interesting mixes.
