Always tastey, but…. Been here a number of times, and all the sauces and the Memphis dry rub are nothing short of GREAT. But a bit concerned about meat quality going downhill, as during the last visit everyone at the table noticed the ribs had too much gristle.
Famous Dave’s my favorite restaurant. I come here just about evey year for my birthday and anytime in between! I love the bread pudding! 😉
Good BBQ. Famous Dave’s is simply good bbq. I like bbq that you can eat without smothering it in bbq sauce because it has a natural smoked flavor already. In fact, I have had the rib tips on serveral occasions and haven’t added any sauce because they have the best smoked flavor already. I have usually dined for dinner, but a few occasions I have gone during happy hour. The only thing I would have to say that I disagree with in regards to the happy hour is for one, the don’t mention to you that it is happy hour when you walk in the door, it may be on a need to know basis, but I found myself saying that it was in fact happy hour, which prompted them to concur. Also, they only allow you to sit in the bar area if you want to participate in the happy hour. I didn’t agree with that, seeing as how the happy hour time is 4pm-6pm and the restaurant was rather empty, they could have easily extended the seating for happy hour diners. The last bit I would disagree on is the menu selection offered for the happy hour. Maybe one to two menu items at most. It would be nice if they could include a few more items. On the plus side of the happy hour, the menu items that are offered the rib tips, and wings, are very reasonably priced, as well as the drinks offered. If you are looking for a bargain price for what you get, you definitely found it here. Although the happy hour is a bit restricted, the overall experience at this Famous Dave’s has always been a pleasing one, with great food and service.

I live close to here and am a frequent visitor. We always get the feast for two and that pretty much covers all of the basic BBQ requirements. The food is consistent and the service is great. We always get a bar table, ad the bartender has always provided great service…
