My first time at this restaurant and I’m already in love. The place doesn’t seem like much from the outside, but once inside it is beautifully decorated, spacious, and provides a diverse selection of different seating layouts. The staff was amazingly friendly and happy and explained all the different menu specials and options. We sat at the bar and chatted with the sushi chef, he was very nice and explained all the delicacies he was working with. The menu was huge! And everything we ate was delicious, filling, and amazingly priced! I will be returning soon and often!!
Don’t order take-out. I have ordered take-out 4 times. I know, I’m a glutton for punishment. The sushi is actually good, but after tonight when I showed up 45 minutes after placing my order and the guy forgot to place my order, I had to write a review. They always say 30-45 minutes and it takes an hour to an hour and a half every time. I will probably be waiting another hour as I sit here at the bar and write this review.
A great place to eat!. Came with the family tonight. Was very good and you definitely leave full. I loved the salad with ginger dressing! 3 family members did the grill at the table meals and enjoyed it immensely. You do pay a lot for the experience but was good for our vacation trip! Our waitress was good but we didn’t see much of her. Overall, I would recommend you give it a try. The sashimi special was tasty and filling. The Chicken Teriyaki is a MUST have. Oh so good!!!
One of the best. This was one of the best sushi places in Omaha. I still prefer this place and Sakura Bana to the newer places. Great grill for meat. They also have a New Year’s Eve event, which is excellent.

Best sushi restaurant in Omaha, by far. If you are a foodie, and you prefer less Americanized, more authentic sushi, there is no better place in Omaha than Sushi Japan. Sit at the sushi bar, tell them to make whatever is best, and you won’t be disappointed!
Have been coming here for years for an evening out. Just made reservations first time in about a year. Restraunt looks run down and more casual. Table wasn’t clean. Waited 30 minutes for someone to come to our table so we could order. Waiter looked at us 3 times and never came over. Nobody else around to ask. Water and host just watched us walk out. Sad. Will not be coming back. Blue Sushi is just up the street.
