Excellent. My husband and I frequent often and its always fantastic! Wings are grilled having that char quality, onion rings are thinly sliced, with spicy breading. We have tried many of the signature drinks as well, all very good. Definitely a place to try.
A very flavorful visit. Went there for lunch with my wife recently. It was not crowded when we came in 1:00, but by the time we left there was a lie waiting to be seated. We started out with an order of the boudin balls. They are breaded, deep fat fried rice balls with sausage inside too. They are served with a very tasty remoulade sauce. To say the least, they were very, very flavorful. I had the smokestack burger. It is a burger, topped with pulled pork chunks, barbecue sauce, onion chips, and cheddar cheese. The bun is made in house and almost holds up to the massive burger. It was very good. I upgraded my fries to gumbo soup for an extra $1.50. It was well worth it. The gumbo was perfect when I added a little hot sauce to it. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich. The pork is not as finely shredded as most places, it is actually more like chunks. It is served with a somewhat spicy cole slaw on it. It is also served on a house made bun. She liked it very much. She also had the onion rings with hers. They with lightly breaded and perfectly done. We both had the sweet tea to drink which was a perfect compliment to the food. We can not wait to come back and try more items on the menu. Our waitress was very good, the restaurant was clean and the food was fantastic.
True Southern comfort food. My husband and I LOVE this restaurant. The onion rings are fabulous! The burgers are very filling and delicious. The Gumbo soup is to die for. The salads are amazing! You will not be disappointed. Everything on the menu is wonderful.
Over priced under portioned….. Some friends told us about this place..we stopped in.. Gizzards are awesome but over priced for the portion..my wings were burnt not tasty at all ..we also ordered a roast beast poor boy.. It was not a poor boy..it was a slim boy..again over priced for the portion…waitress was kind and advised there was new cooks and there portions where off….Is that my problem?..She offered 15% of our meal..we came in expecting to get good food ..that’s not what we got…unsatisfactory in my opinion..I will not go back..I could have went to Red Lobster for the price!!
It’s hella bomb. Boudin balls are on point. Wings are on point. Mahi tacos are dope. Smokestack burger is slammin. Good service. Good food.
Gustatory. Delightful little restaurant in Florence. I had Jambalaya and red beans and rice. Mostly Louisiana as the menu terms gumbo, blackened, PoBoy, Boudin, Kickin’ and Cajun suggest. Nice beer and wine selection. Breads and hamburger buns are baked in house. Attentive staff, they even turned the music down a bit to facilitate table conversation. I look forward to their adding deserts to the menu. Beignets and bread pudding would be nice.
Not really a Southern restaurant; no greens, grits, fried chicken, okra, or other of the many staples of the Deep South. The presence on the menu of jambalaya, gumbo, and similar items, plus the presence of Abita beer ( from Baton Rouge) makes this more of a Cajun or Louisiana restaurant. While the red beans and rice were bland–there needs to be more in the dish than simply red beans and rice, despite the name– I had a Cajun Burger and it was just perfect-juicy, tasty, nice remoulade, good toppings. The burger is worth a visit; I’ll need to give it a second chance to try the Jambalaya.
