Comfort Food. Jimbo’s Diner is located in the LaVista Keno building tucked in behind the KFC on 84th and Harrison. Many people drive by daily and don’t know its there. Take the time to scope it out, you will be happy you did.They do excellent comfort food. Think typical diner or small town cafe type food. Fried chicken, meatloaf, hot beef sandwich, gizzards, etc. You can’t go wrong with any of these items as I’ve found on previous visits. They have daily specials that are really good deals. Today’s lunch specials were $1.10 beef tacos or a prime rib open faced sandwich for $5.95. I went for the prime rib and my co-workers went for the tacos. Including drinks, our meal for three came to $15. My sandwich was good but I was really suprised on how tasty the tacos looked. Fresh flour tortilla fried and stuffed with a generous portion of meat and cheese. A Tex-Mex style taco done well at a diner? I think I made the wrong choice here. I understand the taco special is every Monday so I have a chance to redeem myself.If you have a craving once in awhile for simple home cooked food, give Jimbo’s a try.
