Dim Sum on a limited schedule in Las Vegas?. My wife and I were in Las Vegas in late November 2014. We were at Rio to see the Penn and Teller show one evening and I noticed that this restaurant was a Dim Sum restaurant. We both thought that this would be perfect for a meal before the show. Too bad the restaurant does not know that people in Las Vegas do not eat on normal schedules. Dim Sum was not an option when we got there. We decided to stay and ordered a few dishes. The steamed fish was OK but not great. I have had better at many other restaurants. I ordered the beef chow fun and what was delivered looked more like Chinese beef stroganoff. They used the twisty egg noodles that you use for stroganoff instead of the very wide rice noodles that everyone else uses for this dish. The flavor was OK but just that. Our last dish was a snow peapod dish which was only average.Next time we plan to see Penn and Teller we will eat somewhere else before we travel to the Rio.

Not Impressed. I think we will have to try KJ Kitchen instead of this place. Part of it could be our fault, but the place was very hectic and we couldn’t tell what we were ordering. I speak only English and that hampered us. Just not a good dining experience. There are many other Dim Sum places in Vegas….we will try those.

Go Somewhere Else!. Because we were staying at the Rio Hotel, thought we would give this place a try. Worst dim sum I have ever tasted. Coming from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, we have better dim sum there than here at KJ Dim Sum. I will never go here again if I was to go to Vegas again.

Horrible customer service. I went here for brunch and was extremely disappointed. it took about 15 minutes for the food carts to come to our table, even though we asked for the carts to come about 10 times. We also wanted another plate of food and when I came over to ask for one more plate, the lady angrily screamed at me in front of everyone there. It was one plate and she could’ve been less rude. The food was good but don’t expect good customer service.

Enjoyed dimsum for 2. Six dishes for about $20. Good deal. If you are staying on the strip take the free shuttle from bally’s or harrah’s to get to rio.

Meh…. We are a little particular about our dim sum, and while KJ’s was passable, it just wasn’t very good. The carts were regular, the service was prompt, the place was packed, but the selection was uncharacteristically limited and the quality just wasn’t there. Now, I’m aware that Vegas isn’t exactly the place one comes for high-quality Asian — especially, buried in the back of the Rio — but we were hoping for much more, and ended up being quite disappointed.

Hong Kong pay dirt in Vegas. Anyone who is familiar with dim sum will realize that they prepare and serve quality dim sum here. The food is very tasty with the same menu options and items as I have had in the NY metro area. I will say that the qualtiy was on par with what I have had back east. A matter of fact some things were better. But the proof of the pudding is when almost everyone dining there is Chinese, and your are greeted in Chinese (Cantonese). The best thing is that they serve dim sum everyday and you don’t need to drive to the Rio. Nor do you need to speak Cantonese. Just eat like one and you’ll feel like you are in Kow Loon.
