Hidden in the Gold Coast Casino is this dim sum place that none of my friends and I have heard of until it was recommended to us by another frequent Vegas visiting friend. When we arrived at about 11:30 a.m. on a Monday, there was a line waiting for tables. Luckily, the wait was not long and I noticed that 90% of the diners were Asian so I guess it’s not a hidden gem with the locals. The place is clean and bright and the dim sum we tried is very good. The 3 testers (har gow steam bbq pork bun and bbq pork wrapped in rice noodles in soy sauce) that I normally order when trying a new dim sum house all passed the taste test. The other dim sum dishes we tried were also very good. This indeed is a good hidden gem discovery for us and we will definitely return to dine here again.
Went in tonight and received excellent food and service. They were very nice, the food was spot on and I would definitely go again!! Orange chicken and Mongolian beef were amazing!
This place is not worth my time or money. As a Las Vegas local, I have eaten great food. As an Asian American who has spent much of my lunch times eating dim sum, this place wasn’t worth it. After waiting half an hour for a table and getting sidelined by a person who cut in line with permission of the host, the trip didn’t start off well. After being seated, we finally started to order and eat. First few dishes were cold and small. Flavor was ok, but I have had better at other places right here in Vegas. The amount of food per dish was incredibly small, with only one sticky rice pouch in an order when it is normally two or three, etc. The flavor was just ok without much filling. All in all, was incredibly disappointed. This place was supposedly rated one of the top in the nation. If that is true then I must have eaten at all of the places rated higher and I find that hard to believe. Aside from the food, service was terrible, even for a Chinese restaurant. Had to wait until after some of our food arrived before getting tea and water. Had empty dishes piling up on our table for 10-15 mins before being taken away. I will not be going back.
Good price for the food quality. Traditional Cantonese style dim sum and dishes, taste is good with very nice price, sitting area is clean and nice…
Three Things to Know. The first thing you need to know is this is a great Chinese restaurant. You will see lots of Asian families, friends and workers here, and it is not surprising that they are enjoying their food and having a good time eating it. At least that is what it appears to me from my vantage point–at another table. The second thing to know is that they have a very expansive menu. There are a lot of foods here that are exotic, and while they might not be tempting to an Anglo guy like me, they probably send warm pangs of happiness down the spines of the local Asian population and foreigners visiting here. I had the walnut prawns in a coconut sauce which was probably one of best versions of this dish I can remember. Served with steamed rice, it was just perfect for a late night dinner. (I slept soundly that night!) My dining partner loves lo mein, and he had the chicken lo mein. He also said that this was among the best versions he has had of this.Service was very good. The atmosphere was bright and bubbly even at this hour after midnight. That’s the third thing you have to know. Ping Pang Pong is open until 3:30 A.M.every night. I knew that, and that is why I chose to go there. It so happens the food is really good too. And for that reason I will return.
Wouldnt Go Back. Visited Ping Pang Pong and I was not very impressed with the service. It was a party of about 8 of us. The dcor was nice and I expected better service from a Hotel restaurant. The Dim Sum was ok but really nothing that I can rave about. They did bring us the items in a timely manner but the food was just all together not impressive. I left most of the items on my plate and I never returned though I was on location for an extended amount of time. The worst part was after the bill was paid in full including a generous tip. We were not allowed to leave until we told them that we tipped and someone else confirmed. Really Low Class service at a price not worth my time.
Completely Ignored!. No doubt this is some good dim-sum here but I will not be returning. The adjacent Chinese speaking tables were served with an amazing selection of food while my companion and I stretched our necks and sat up in our chairs to see the offerings that passed us by as if on the express lane on I-15. Waving, staring, and speaking out did not help our cause. Couldn’t get our bill so went up to cash register and began to explain to cashier but quickly realized she wasn’t listening and didn’t care!!!
