—-Nov, 2017 update: There is a rumor circulating that I fly 2-3 times per year from CT to Las Vegas just for rumballs? It is not true, but on arrival one of my few priorities is to make my way to the bakery’s door for rumballs. At a mere $1.20, it is probably the best deal you are going to find in Las Vegas. May, 2017 update: Though we invariably visit this bakery on each trip for the delicious rumballs, there are so many other tempting desserts. This time in addition to 4 rumballs, we picked up a slice of Mandarin orange cake. Fearing it might go stale :), we enjoyed the slice shortly after returning to our room. It was good, but the cake was on the dry side for our tastes.—-Oct, 2016 update – No trip, actually there have been a few, is complete without a couple of rumballs from the German Bread Bakery. Yes, it is rumballs, I have spelt them incorrectly in prior reviews. We picked up a pair plus 2 slices of crumb pudding cake that were filled with Bavarian cream. One suggestion I have for anyone hankering to try a rumball is to allow it to sit out for an hour after purchasing and I guaranty you will be rewarded with melt in your mouth deliciousness. No need to wait to devour the delicious crumb pudding cake. —April, 2016 update —-The rum balls have sustained a price increase from 99 cents to $1.15 since our last visit, but it appears so has the size. We ordered a pair to go and told the clerk there was no need to bag them as they were not traveling very far. These were so good that I stopped by for another pair a week later. —-May, 2015 updateRum balls. I had received a $20 gift certificate from an internet friend so early in our vacation we made our way to this bakery. On our first visit we grabbed a pair of rum balls which have to be, at least for us, the use 99 cent desserts ever created. On subsequent visits we ordered cream ring and a slice of apple crumb cake. The cream ring has a cherry filling that is delicious while the apple crumb cake was just fair. On the last full day in town and with a $10 balance remaining on our gift certificate, we ordered 7 rum balls to take home and one last cream ring.29 Oct, 2014Wouldn’t be denied. On our first full day in town, we stopped in for a pair of rum balls only to discover the had sold out and were not expecting another delivery. The employee provided a business card and suggested we call ahead. We consoled ourselves by sharing a slice crumb pudding cake a crunchy exterior and soft, succulent interior of Bavarian cream. It would have been easier to eat had we had proper utensils, but we managed with the cheap plastic forks that were provided. A few days later while in the immediate neighborhood we stopped in a purchased a pair of their excellent rum balls that were consumed before we got back to our car. 03/14 This small store functions as a retail outlet for the original bakery located in Summerlin. Much to our chagrin it has been flying under my personal radar for at least 2 years but this oversight has finally been rectified. A large variety of Bavarian breads and pastries are offered with us choosing a slice of Bienenstich, more commonly known as bee sting cake. This cake had a crunchy almond topping, vanilla pastry cream center and a yeasty cake bottom. It was interesting, but paled in comparison to the 2 rum balls that we immediately consumed in the car. These are truffle-like but the rum and chocolate are on steroids. Before departing, I was directed by wife to return to the bakery for 2 more rum balls that we shared over the following 2 days.21 Apr, 2014Excellent rum balls. On the last full day of our vacation we purchased a freezer proof storage container that we filled with 9 rum balls. These now temporarily reside in our home freezer.

Great Place. This is a great place to grab some traditional German pastries. Get there early in the morning because they run out of the good stuff quick!
