A local recommended that I try either Bachi Burger, our Shoku. I decided on ramen instead of a burger. This was my first time trying anything other than supermarket ramen, and my server did a great job of explaining the different dishes. I had the calamari, which was tenticle-only and very tasty. I also had the Bacon Takana fried rice, which was great! But, then, it does have bacon in it, after all. It will also be my breakfast this morning. My only criticism is that I wish the egg on top had been more runny.The ramen I got was the Tonkotsu and the broth was quite flavorful. Next time I’m trying the one with duck. I’m glad I hit this place up, and would definitely recommend it. It’s small, but I was lucky enough to find it pretty empty when I went.Oh, and since it has the same owner as Bachi Burger, you can order your ramen, eat at Bachi, and they’ll run it next door for you. Super service.

Wow. Really disappointing all around. We wanted to go to Bachi Burger and there was a 45 minute wait, so we decided to try this place. Sure it wouldn’t compare to Manta, but why not? The waiter came off like he was in his first year of learning Japanese and refused to even try to explain what was in a dish in English. We know the basics but not everything, and myself being a vegetarian I need to know everything in a dish. I asked if all the ramen options and the chefs special options are meat broth based. He said yes and then recommended more met broth options. The intuition wasn’t there, but that’s happened before. When my partner tried to order his ramen with an additional ingredient he explained it was already in there, so he said okay I’ll have that. And the waiter kept explaining the dish, and similar dishes. My partner kept pointing and saying okay, I’ll have this, and it took at least five times before the waiter wrote it down. Very irritating. I gave up and ordered the salmon roe rice bowl. Tiny portion, but too much for the tiny bowl. The rice was dry! Fail. The marinade was awful and the roe was not fresh. I ate four bites and set it aside. The chicken wings my partner got were bland and the sauce it came with ended up being like a southwestern mayo sauce. Not what we expected, cheap choice. The only good thing was his ramen, but, nothing special there either. Also, the waiter asked me if I would be okay with chopsticks, and I said yes, and he asked again. I’m white. He did not ask my partner, who is Asian/Pacific Islander. All over, we just kept our mouths shut, did not tip, and will never come back. Good job mastering the one page menu dude, and way to go on not being helpful or receptive and even being insulting. Also, great job on the old ingredients. Awful. Gonna go grab some drive through since I didn’t end up being able to eat what I ordered.
Just WOW! I haven’t left a restaurant this satisfied in fornever. Wife thought I was nuts for leavin a 30% tip, but again wow, everything was spot on.
