Yet another great establishment in the very unsuspecting strip mall which features both Raku and Monta. If you’ve every been to a Hawaiian ice or even just a yoghurt shop, you’ll get this place. However the shaved ice here is so thin, it creates a texture that’s unfamiliar. There’s also unfamiliar yet amazing tastes like – black sesame seed. If you’re looking for a lighter dessert or just a cool down snack, this is your place.

There aren’t any establishments that serve Taiwanese shaved ice cream, so I had to locate one while in Vegas. There are quite a few choices off Spring Mountain (aka China Town Strip), but I narrowed it down to a few and made my way to SnowFlake Shavery. So glad I did! The server was very helpful in explaining the varieties and the portions are super generous! And the prices are unbelievably reasonable. I wish we had one of these in PDX.

**Yay! I’m a fan. I’m glad I revisited this place a few more time because I’m new to the shaved snow craze. Shaved snow is different, it’s very light in taste, which is a huge turnoff for me, but when it’s paired with a similar fruit it can be a light refreshing treat. The 4-stars is for the Mango Madness. I did not like the Black Sesame or the Green Tea with Red Beans.**The first time I came here was in December. I got the black sesame snow with mochi. It didn’t taste like anything and I was already cold. Strike one! I had to go again to see what these Yelpers were talking about. Fast forward, it’s now summer and I’m hot. I don’t want boba, I do not want ice cream. So, I decide to try this shaved snow place again. I got the green tea with red beans. The green tea tasted like water-ice. But ice on a 110 day? That’s a good thing! The red bean was good and plentiful, it was all I tasted, not bad for $5. I’ll give this place another try. Foul ball!Today, I went back for the third time…. you know what they say, third time’s a charm. I think I figured out this shaved snow thing. I got the Mango Madness and it was delicious. It was mango snow, fresh mangoes and condensed milk. I still couldn’t taste the mango snow after a few bites but it complimented the fresh mangoes and condensed milk. Loved it. Now I know why Yelpers go mad over this stuff. Not a home run but good enough for first base! For $5 it’s a cool treat for a hot day. But honestly, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here.

Mango with Pineapples and Condensed Milk. You would have to be crazy not to love this refreshing and unique desert! It was so light and airy- it’s like an adult version of a snow cone, just much improved. This cold treat was soooo good!
