Overrated. I don't understand why this restaurant got such good reviews. The salsa was good, as people said, but the lime margarita was bland. A mango…

Thumbs up. We asked our cab driver for the best Mexican restaurant in town and this is where here recommended. Although it is a $12 cab ride each way from Trump Hotel we thought it was well worth it. The Guac was by far the best we have had at a restaurant (still partial to my own) and the rest if the food was very good as well as the service. Food was pricey than we are used to in Michigan but still cheaper than anywhere on the strip.
Fun!. Went with a group of about 10 girls for 5 de mayo. We had reservations and our table was ready for us as our arrival staggered. The salsa was addicting hot and the bean dip was pretty good too. We ordered our drinks and my frozen margarita tasted more like water, sent it back. My friend sitting across me literally waited for about 20 minutes for her beer and we had to remind them. The whole time we were confused as to who our server / busser was, there was like 4 different people servicing our table. The pia colada looked pretty cool as it is served literally in a pineapple. I ordered the pescado frito ‘fried fish’ and it was good. Overall, service was crap, food was your normal for a Mexican restaurant but it’s a little bit over priced. The ambiance was fun and we were there to get drunk and have a good time, and we definitely did.
Would recommend, on our first visit the waiter was extremely helpful in helping with our selections. Salsa was closer to cali-mex like I grew up with so I loved it I’m tired of everyone putting chipotle in everything, so this was a great choice for us.
Casa Don Juan used to be my fave place in Vegas. Unfortunately they changed the menus and prices a few months ago . Not a problem if the quality is maintained! Sadly I have a few poor experiences which culminated in being served recycled chips. How do I know they were recycled? Well when the first chip you pull out is soggy and has been dipped in salsa it has probably been recycled. The new menu is average and overpriced compared with other Mexican restaurants. The drinks aren’t as strong and it seems like they are counting pennies.
Great breakfast. Heuves Rancheros were awesome, guacamole was the best I have ever tasted. Great friendly service. Staff was very welcoming.
Great salsa, good service- we’ve been here 4 times now and like it a lot. Large delicious $10 margaritas. Try the chimichanga or the Carne Asada plate.
Would not recommend , many good restaurants downtown, skip on bland salsa, bland food. Although so e prices are good , some are extremely over priced if you don’t just want tortilla and beans. There’s even a better Cuban place right down the street n Fremont that had a better atmosphere.
