—May, 2017 update: I had read a few recommendations by other diners so I cast aside my usual preference for an apple fritter and ordered a pair of donuts, Nevadian and strawberries and cream. These were shared with my wife back in the room though my share proved to be a bit smaller than her share. Both donuts were fresh and light, but we neither was deemed to be worth the extra calories.On entering and seeing both the display case and overall set up, I immediately thought Pink Box which I had visited for the first time the week prior. I subsequently learned the owner was a former Pink Box employee. I inquired if the donuts were made there and he responded affirmatively though acknowledging a few specialties were baked at his Durango location. I chose an apple fritter that my wife and I shared. Was this the best apple fritter in Las Vegas? Maybe. I plan on doing a side by side comparison to my current favorite fritter on our next trip.
