  Botched Steak – 2 TIMES!!!. I was here with a group last weekend celebrating, among other things, the engagement of two friends. My husband ordered a steak, prepared medium rare. The first time he received it, over 10 minutes after the rest of us had received our food, it was so overdone, it was difficult for him to cut it. When the waiter arrived to ask how everything was going, my husband very politely mentioned that his steak had been cooked longer than as requested. The waiter promptly told him very rudely that he would need to speak with the chef about it. A minute later, the waiter reappeared with the chef from the kitchen. On a Saturday night, when the place is packed full and there is a line of people waiting out the door, you would think the chef would have better things to do than to come to the table over an overdone steak. Not only did he come to the table, he was extremely rude to my husband and even stuck a handheld flashlight toward the inside of the steak! I’m sorry, but my husband is in his mid-40s. I’m pretty sure he knows the difference between a medium-rare and overdone steak! The chef agreed that the meat was overdone, grabbed the plate and headed back to the kitchen. Within two minutes, we were absolutely surprised to see the waiter back with a new steak! He explained to my husband with a very snotty attitude that since he had such a problem with the original steak, he was now priority and they had taken someone else’s steak that was almost finished in the kitchen and given it to him instead. When my husband cut into it, again, he appeared to be having some trouble. This time, the steak was so underdone, the middle–and by middle, I mean everything but the very surface of the meat, was completely COLD! Needless to say, he did not eat it. When the waiter reappeared, he looked dumbfounded and once again made a complete production out of inspecting the steak (insinuating for the second time that my husband was lying about the state of the meat) and then brought the manager over to explain why the steak would have to be taken off the bill. How disgusting. The Wynn is one of our favorite hotels in the world, and as we live in Vegas part of the year, it is very sad to have had such a horrible experience at such a highly rated restaurant. This is, to me, however, simply unacceptable and we will never return again. EVER. If you are intending to impress friends and colleagues with a nice restaurant, this is not the place to do it!

  Try to avoid. They had us down for 9 pm and after standing in the crowded dark hallway, they didn’t sit us down ( party of 4 ) till abt 9.45. they brought the bread and forgot to tell us that one of them had bacon (which is a big no-no for a vegeterian like myself ). the expensive steak that my buddy ordered was too buttery so he only took few bites (wasted $60). the beet salad & pasta i ordered were extremely mediocre. basically it was a big disappointment for everyone at the table from start till the end and we all got mad for choosing this particular place..we should’ve stuck to our original favorite, del monico at venetian…overall a huge waste of $350 (tip included ). Mr. Wynn, this is not acceptable….they’re ruining your reputation, Sir !!!
