The food was good. Great place to have a meal with friends if you are in the mood for Asian cuisine (not authentic). Nice atmosphere, but it is pricey for what you get.
Was craving some asian food so dropped in for an early dinner. I ordered a ramen and some prawn dumplings; the ramen broth was tasty and the noodles were of a good texture. The dumplings were average, the prawn filling had a strong prawn smell, making me question how fresh it actually was. There is plenty of seating available and service was good.
Great food!! Delicious. Very nice and quick service. We had Annie she was wonderful. But, I have to agree with a lot of other people, it’s a bit over priced. My friend and I had a glass of wine each and we shared some sushi and when we got the bill, it was over $100 and it seemed steep for sushi even on the Strip! Overall great stuff but the price was high.
So here is the thing…. This place has good food, good service and an excellent look and vibe. I really want to recommend this restaurant but I cannot because it is extremely expensive, to the point that I don’t understand why. Went for lunch with my partner. We had a glass of wine each. He had the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice (note that everything is a la carte). I had a caterpillar (eel) roll and six pieces of nigiri sushi. With tax and tip our meal came to well over 130 dollars. For a one-course lunch. If you just rolled off the plane and had never eaten in a Vegas restaurant you might think this is the norm, but it isn’t. We had far better and more expansive meals for much less during the course of our trip. If you are loaded or someone else is paying go here, otherwise heed all the other reviews that say it is too pricey and give it a miss. Its a shame, because the food was really good.
Good food, but bring lots of cash. When we booked our reservation at a hotel nearby MGM, the hotel was running a promotion which included a $75 dine in card – you just charge what you ate at participating locations within MGM and the hotel will deduct up to $75 from the final bill (tips not included). We walked around MGM and decided to try Grand Wok. They did post a menu outside and we took a gander, the prices were steep but we weren’t paying so in we went.We were seated and menus brought to us promptly. Our drinks arrived shortly after. Our order consisted of : garlic shrimp fried rice, malaysian style seafood rice noodles. For the rice noodles, you can pick the heat level, from mild to hot. Since my companion doesn’t favour spicy food, I picked mild.Grand Wok features an open kitchen, so you can view the cook(s) preparing your meal.It didn’t take long for our food to arrive, which was a good thing as we were getting hungry. The smell from the food was intoxicating, as you can pick up a subtle hint of wok smell mixed with the rice/rice noodles. The shrimp in the fried rice was plump, and well cooked. The rice noodles were good, they weren’t clumped together but the seafood was a tad skimpy. I really enjoyed the chinese flavouring in both dishes, very good and well seasoned. I could have ate another dish of fried rice and rice noodles, and this brings me to a major critic I have of Grand Wok :This place is super expensive, and a very poor value for the money. For the 2 of us, 2 dishes, and just tap water (the tap water was free), the bill was around $51, including tip. All I can say was thank goodness someone else was paying for it, as I certainly would not fork over $51 2 dishes, the only saving grace was we aren’t big eaters so the 2 dishes satiated our appetite. However, a bus ride (#203) to chinatown (international district) would probably offer more dishes at a subsequent lower price.Overall, we did enjoy the food, it was cooked well and flavourful. On the other hand, unless someone is paying for the meal, I certainly would not return due to the high price of admission.
Worst Service Ever. The server messed up our sushi order, forgot to bring my drink and then remembered when the meal was over (about 45 minutes after I ordered the damn thing). Hot plates for a cold appetizer and an empty water glass all night. Pad Thai was terrible no better than the China Buffet for 9.99 (except here the price is 20 a plate). Left over rice noodles from probably another diner’s plate found in our edamame. Oh and all for a price of 90 dollars by the end of that circus. Save yourself the trouble and dine somewhere else for better food and service.
Awesome food. Loved it, the orange chicken was yummy, wife and I share food, this time it was really hard for me to share it. :)I wanted all of it for myself
