A restaurant within the MGM resort that is laid out in the open. Where there should be walls there aren’t and hence the foot traffic of the hotel can see into the restaurant. It therefore lacks privacy and tends to get loud, not from the patrons but from those passing by.The food is more gourmet than it’s authentic. It’s plated well and has good flavors, but it isn’t truly Mexican. However, their salsas are outstanding. Spicy, flavorful, and thick. The tequila selection is vast, but their options aren’t sourced well and are a bit overpriced. The staff isn’t very familiar with basic tequila concepts. Overall, the staff was slow, unattentive, and not very organized. They were at least friendly.
Get the table side guacamole! It is incredibly good they make it fresh right in front of you. The best guacamole I have ever had. I ordered the grilled chicken fajitas and they were incredible. The chicken tasted like it was freshly cooked on a backyard grill. The portions were very reasonable and did not leave you feeling stuffed or uncomfortable. It is pricey but worth it for the fresh food!
We wanted a breakfast/brunch near the Excalibur and found it. The street tacos are really good, but add the beans and rice to the meal. My husband made his own Bloody Mary, that was pretty cool! Coffee was great!
Do yourself a favor and order the table side guacamole. I don’t care if you weren’t in the mood for guac. I don’t care if you don’t like guac. I don’t even care if you’re not eating here. Call, email, fax or carrier pigeon your order for the guac NOW. The rest of the food is great too, and the service was awesome. Do prepare yourself and manage your expectations on cost. 2 bar drinks, the guacamole and 2 entrees set me back $90+.
