Away from the busy and expensive Las Vegas strip, this place is worth try once. For first timer and vegetarian, I would suggest the veggie combo. Should be sumptuous for 2 people. It’s has Injera (bread) and variety of curries, lentils and salads. Not so great from ambience perspective but plays decent African music. Surprisingly no deserts to offer. Cheap alcohol.
Had the veggie combo and chicken with boiled egg it was all awesome. Got full quick but no one wanted to stop eatting. Good anount of food for a decent price. Their breakfast was also good. Open all most 24/7 so anytime they’ll be open. 5am until really late.
Native Tongue ;-). This was not my first experience with Ethiopian cuisine and they are good at what they do! It was delicious! We had the Meat Combination Platter with vegetables and I was very impressed. It is a unique taste and that I highly recommend!
Great Service. I went here with a big group and the staff was very accomodating, even to how loud our group was…we never got a dirty look or was asked to keep it down. Our waitress was very friendly and she took the liberty of picking out our order for the basic fact that none of us had ate ethopian food before and she didn’t want us to have a bad experience. I couldn’t tell you what we were served, but it was all delicious!! While I thought the food was good, its probably not a cuisine I would try again…to me its one of those, you have got to try everything once things and Merkato was a great choice for my first ethiopian food experience. The food is good, service is great, and its very reasonably priced…for 11 people, our bill came out to only about $96.00!
Very tasty. Staff could tell I was a neophyte (they suggested I not order my original item) and directed me to a truly tasty treat. Whole dining experience was unique, and I will definitely return.
Selam! I love this place!. I am not ethiopian but I LOVE ethiopian food and the culture! If you are adventurous and love trying ethnic cuisines then please try Merkato! I wish I could speak amaharic to tell you how much I love this place. (cant remember them name for name)Dishes I recommend:Special KitfuVegetarian ComboBeef Tibsand they have a pastry filled with Lentils and dip in there spicey berber sauce. Ciao!
