Ive always enjoyed RA here and Scottsdale. It had been a while since Ive been but the menu changed and they upped there game. Food wise it is great bang for your buck. Happy hour especially. Service wise you get mall quality, not hotel quality.
Good lunch deals. Asahi is a decent price for a pint. Good and helpful friendly service. Sushi bar and outside area is cool and all very clean
Great atmosphere and service; however, I found the sushi overall to be just OK (as did my father and brother). For an appetizer we ordered the Chili Ponzu Yellowtail, which sounded great, but just did not come together. It did not need the the Chili Ponzu Sauce (aka Serracha), it was all you tasted and detracted from the yellowtail (it was like putting A1 on steak, just criminal), thank God it was on the side. For dinner I had the Dinner Sushi and Nigiri Assortment, a great sampler and typical of Japanese restaurants. It included a California Roll with Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Whitefish, Shrimp, and Tamago Nigiri. The rice had great texture, but the temperature was warm, which I don’t find appetizing with sushi, it should be body or room temperature in my opinion. The rice is the vehicle and the base of all sushi, its like the tortilla to the taco, the bread to the sandwich, if it ain’t right, then whole thing is wrong. As for the neta, the fish was all fresh, however, I found the Sake (salmon) to be flavorless, which should have a pronounced flavor. As well, the Tamago (omelette) did not have the right texture, I was taught you judge a sushi spot base on their tamago. Personally, I judge a place on their Shime Saba (marinated mackerel). Theirs was pretty good; it was cured well and the texture was right (in that the flavor was bold with a slight sweetness and the texture was smooth verse flaky from over curing). The shining star of the meal was the Uni Shooter my father and I both had. We both agreed it was one of the best ones we’ve had and the uni was outstanding. The uni was creamy in texture and its briny flavor was complimented well by the quail egg; and the ponzu sauce and sake I think (every place has a different recipe). I would return just to have another Uni Shooter alone. The service and the Uni is the sole purpose they got a 3.5 rating.
We came in on sept 1 for our 20 th wedding anniversary. We had an amazing server Jenna 🙂 the food and the rolls were awesome and the price for being on the strip was reasonable. We will be back again for sure the next time we visit !!
If there’s one item that you must order, it’s the Las Vegas roll. It’s absolutely delicious and intoxicating. The ambiance is welcoming and the service is phenomenal. I will definitely be coming back again for the food. It’s outstanding. I had a really good experience here.
The sake sangria (white wine) was the best drink I’ve ever had.. in my life! Reallyrefreshing, and I typically go for red sangria.Also, the fried shrimp tacos.. best seafood taco ever. And I’m a huge fish taco fan!! The chipotle type of sauce on the tacos was really delicious.
