To sum it up, this place is overpriced with lacklusyer service. I came here with a party of 4 early in the evening. We were seated quickly on the patio as there were plenty of open tables. I ordered the Yaki Ramen and a pot of Sencha for $8, which was brought out and poured in our cups by the server half brewed. I’d expect an $8 pot premium Japanese tea to be served properly. Food came relatively quickly, but the service dropped off quickly. All of our drinks went dry half way through the meal, and weren’t replinished until we were finished. Food was decent, but I’ve had better ramen from a food truck for half the price.
A really nice looking restaurant, with excellent staff and service. They specialize in ramen and other Japanese-influenced dishes. During my visit, I found the food tasty but not without flaws.I ordered the grilled octopus appetizer. It was covered in lump crab meat, perfectly-cooked green beans, and a Japanese mayo-based sauce. The flavors were quite excellent. The only complaint was the octopus itself. It’s a hard meat to cook perfectly, and as a result I found the meat a bit chewy. Tasty, but chewy. The ramen itself was pretty good. The fried roasted pork was freaking amazing. The soft-cooked egg was solid. The nori, corn and mushrooms each good and added to the overall flavor. The broth itself was good, but nothing amazing. It was certainly no Momofuku (NY) or Sakuramen (DC), but again, overall good. The only downfall were the pork belly slices: they were burnt. When I consider that I was on the Las Vegas Strip, and that this part of town essentially knows nothing of authentic Asian food, I would say that this restaurant is a success. The dishes were quite authentic, and overall pretty packed with flavor. If you come here expecting a good, solid bowl of ramen you will probably be pretty pleased. And I might add, the prices weren’t too much more than I’d pay in another city for the same thing, always a plus.
I went this restaurant with reservations, it was a Friday night, they sat me down right away, I had a coupon for two for one ramen from the casino, so i order the butter ramen, I was a bear pass, this place is not a recommend, but if u have a coupon, use it and don’t waste it, and the when u get back to your hotel, order room service…
An American re-imagining of Japanese food, but not Japanese.. Service was excellent, food not so much. Ordered the pickled vegetables and received some vegetables with carrots in a vinaigrette sauce. Not really bad but not what I wanted. Ordered the steam bun selection and received steam bun tacos. Again not bad but not what I wanted. Ordered ramen and it wasn’t bad but the noodles lacked profundity. Ordered tempura and received generally unidentifiable tempura vegetables. We didn’t finish it because it wasn’t good. Strangely the venue didn’t serve green tea. They had some herbal white tea which reminded me a children’s aspirin. The venue had an extensive bar menu of sake. I would recommend it for a quick snack and drinks but not for a meal. If you want Japanese food this isn’t it.
Rocky but with promise. Dined here on a recent trip to Vegas. My server was excellent and I liked the feel of the place but there were a lot of items missing on both their menu and their drink menu. Food was good, although not always quite how I imagined it would be and the crispy cod bun was one of the best things I ate on this particular trip. I would like to see this place after it revamps their drink menu and when everything is settled a bit. I think it could be a real knockout.
Worst! Meal! Ever!. I don’t usually review a restaurant, but I have traveled the world over my years and this was the worst meal I have ever had. run don’t walk to someplace else
Yum!. There wasn’t one out of the 15+ dishes our party of 6 ordered that weren’t delicious. The patio was also in a great location, kind of guarded a bit from the insanity of the strip, which helped block the wind, too, but still great people watching. Awesome range of cocktails, beers, and sakes($4 PBR could not be overlooked!) What really made our experience here one of our faves of our group’s bi-annual Vegas visits was Rae, the floor manager. She listened closely to our group’s rather diverse likes & dislikes and made suggestions that were dead-on. And she was absolutely darling!!!
