Southern Food vs. Soul Food. I am a native Texan that grew up on BBQ. I firmly believe there is a big difference between Southern Food and Soul Food. For example, chicken and waffles is soul food, while brisket and okra is southern. I used to settle for Soul Food restaurants because I never heard of H&H. Once H&H plus 2 opened, I stumbled across it while driving down Rancho. If you really want to learn the difference of Southern vs Soul, try H&H. I love this place! It is one of the only places in Vegas that can take me back to my childhood. I have been there multiple times, tried almost everything on the menu and have been pleased every time. My favorite item on the menu is the Catfish. The crust is amazing!P.S. To the guy who wrote a review about Smothered Chicken. Just because it’s a BBQ restaurant, does not mean everything is smothered in BBQ. Maybe next time, try asking someone what it’s about.
