Good for bike riders. John Cutter is my favorite spot for a cold beer after a long cycling day in the red rock canyon. It has a nice patio and a good selection of beer and appetizers.

Going down hill 🙁 always loved this place and have been a raving fan but in the last six months service has gotten SO bad. Our server today was so ditzy. She had no concept of the menu, offerered things that werent on the menu dropped some of my food on the table and offered to replace but never did, food sat in window for ever and tasted rubbery and portions have diminished . Bar tenders are loud and cuss and they offer a children’s menu??? Sad…. We loved this place.

Hoping to smile. I live in the area and have been here more times than I count, but it has decreased over the last year + (when they opened I visited about 5-8 times month). Over the last 1+ years I keep trying because it’s so close and convenient. The simple truth is the food is sometimes awesome and sometimes not! Sometimes the service is awesome and sometimes not! I love the burgers, wings, and pretzels – but sometimes they even mess that up. I know I read plenty of reviews that have strong opinions either way – I’m just praying someone from mgt is listening.Yes -the food is a bit pricey, but if it’s good you don’t care and if it’s not you write a review 🙂

Great Neighborhood Bar. The food at John Cutter is really good but over the years either the chefs or the ingredients seem to change every few months. At one point in 2009 I ate there twice in one week ate the same food and it was prepared completely different both times! The staff at John Cutter seems to be exclusively thin women in their twenties, which gives it a bit of a Hooters vibe but I always see families with small children eating in the out door section. The Brunch menu, which is only served on the weekends is amazing, especially the Corn Flake encrusted French Toast ! The great thing about Jon Cutter though is that they always send coupons in the mail for $10 off your meal, which really helps as their prices are a little high but are proportionate to their massive portion sizes. I would recommend any menu item that has a half portion option, that you just order the half portion. Their mixed drinks are top notch and like the food very big but also have a big price tag.

Great Food, Ok Service, A Little Pricey. Read this review all the way through. My experience at John Cutters was both good and bad. I’ve lived right around the corner from this Tavern for about a year and decided to visit it for the first time recently. It was busy when I dined here, possibly because there was an NFL playoff game on. We were greeted and seated immediately by the hostess and our drinks came fairly quickly. After that, we waited a little longer than I would have liked to to place our order. When we finally did, I was told that the dish I wanted was either sold out or it wasn’t available anymore…the waitress wasn’t really clear. Either way, I had to browse the menu for something different. I asked for just another minute and I was given about ten (or maybe more). By the time she came back to see what I had decided on, our drinks were both empty. From there, I finally ordered my entree and we got our drinks refilled. This was the worst part of my experience. The service was not awful (I’ve had worse) it just took a little longer…again, possibly because they were busy for the game. As far as the food, it was great! I had the salmon dish and it was delicious. My girlfriend had the BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza and we both agreed it was the best (yes, BEST) BBQ Chicken Pizza we’ve ever had (and we’ve both had this dish at quite a few restaurants). The sauce was great and the flatbread it was served on was excellent. I do think the dishes were a little pricey. The pizza was $13 and the salmon was $17. The place is a little more upscale than, let’s say, a PT’s pub.I will probably visit John Cutters again, most likely to have the BBQ pizza. I may visit them during one of the specials that they advertised$1 for either a Pabst Blue Ribbon, Hamm’s, or Olympia beer, $1 for sliders, and $1 for fries. The special is offered Mon-Fri from 4-6pm and 12-2am. Not sure if/when that promotion will end but it sounds good to me. They also had half off steaks on Sundays, I think.James
