5 STAR on July 17, 2015(First Review)We heard there was a Russian food restaurant in Vegas andsince we have never had Russian food before, we wanted to try it. We found a $25 off restaurant.com coupon andtried it out Friday night, July 17, 2015.The restaurant has a Tropicana address but it’s actually offthe street a little bit at the end of a small outdoor mall of stores near theold Liberace Museum. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside it was richlydecorated and exceptionally clean (including the bathrooms). There were five of us in attendance, fouradults and one child. We were promptly served ice water and menus. We ordered sodas, and one of each of theRussian non-alcoholic drinks Mors ($2.95) aberry drink and Kvas ($2.95) which tasted like non-alcoholic beer. And ordered two beers, Baltika 7 ($6) andBaltika 9 ($6.50). Then two soups,Borsch ($5.95) a beet/beef and Solyanka ($8.95) a tomato/meats/sour cream. Both were delicious but most of the tablefavored the Solyanka. Next was three appetizers: Blinchiki Mushrooms ($6.95) crepes stuffed with mushrooms, VarenikiPotatoes ($5.95) dumplings stuffedwith potatoes, and Julien ($6.95) mushrooms baked in a cream sauce with cheese. All three were delicious and tasted veryfresh made. For the entre we orderedBeef Stroganoff and Schnitzel. TheStroganoff is not made the American way with noodles. It’s pure beef, mushrooms and onions in adark sauce. Excellent! But the Schnitzel was the favorite foreveryone. It’s a pork cutlet lightlybreaded, soooo tender and served with deliciously spiced skilletvegetables. For dessert we tried Pragacake ($6.95) and Napoleon cake ($6.95) which tastes like cheese cake layeredwith puff pastry. My son loved theNapoleon cake and almost ate the whole thing.I don’t know what authentic Russian food is suppose to taste like, buteveryone liked what we received. Our total bill was $112 with $25 coupon, so we paid $88 plusa $22 tip.Service from our waitress Ludmila was excellent – 5 starFood was very good – 5 starAtmosphere very nice – 4 star (only because it was a bitdark)Value – worth every penny we paid – 5 star
Found Cafe M through Groupon. Our visit was superb. Not crowded, 70’s love ballads and low lights. A attentive Rusdian accented waitress was attentive. We shared three dishes, Chicken Keiv, Beef Stroganoff and $6.95Golubtsy which was three a small Cabbage rolls stuffed with ground beef, ground pork and spices – served with sour cream. I even tried the Russia Beer. Recommend coming hungry. Will visit again
Delicious!
Horrible. Under new management. Have you ever seen russian restaurant with no vodka ? This is the one. Have yourain course ever arrived before appetizer ? It gets better borshc the soup arrived with desert. I have been going to this place every te we are in Vegas. The newanagement and arrogant staff have taken this one off my list.
