Fantastic! Truly a treat!. This restaurant is located inside the Bonanza Casino in Reno. It is truly the best restaurant we have visited since moving to the area. The hours and days are limited but that is ok… make your reservations and prepare to enjoy yourself. Every dish at our table of four was incredible. Well prepared, beautiful, the service was impeccable… this is an award winning restaurant and you will learn why. I ordered the All Natural Pork Chop which was oven roasted, pan finished, apple wood bacon cheddar white grits, Texas spiced walnuts, fire popped cherry tomatoes, shaved corn sage gravy. The thick pork chop was moist, cooked JUST right, had a little tasty crust on the top… excellent. My husband had the rib eye and it was cooked exactly to his request an his side was a delectable aged parmesan risotto. Not cheap but worth it for a truly special meal.

All Prime Beef, baby!. 4.5 Stars – The Cactus Creek Southwestern Steakhouse is a high end, high quality restaurant with an all prime-beef menu. You would think a restaurant of this caliber would be in an upscale neighborhood, but it’s in a desolate corner of North Reno in a locals casino called Bonanza. We have eaten here about a half dozen times in the past 5 years. Every experience has been extremely good. They have switched to an all prime beef menu in the past few years and promote it as the only restaurant in Reno to do so. Their beef quality is outstanding. I have had their Top Sirloin, Porterhouse and Blackened Prime Rib. They are all just fantastic.Their appetizers are great also. But best of all, their wine list is pretty impressive with very good prices. They advertise having the lowest markup in all of Reno. The Ferrari Carano Siena that we love is only $32 a bottle, whereas most other Reno restaurants charge $50+.The only negative of this restaurant is that you have to cross the smoky casino to get in the restaurant. This is by far one of our favorite restaurants and cannot recommend it enough. It is the best value high quality steak house there is.
