Dont be fooled by the high rating of this restaurant. I can honestly say Ichiban has the most expensive crappy food I ever ate. They may have been much better before but now they need to close and fix their menu, food and chefs. The only thing good I have to say about this place is the good reception. I do advise you look twice over your bill because you might be overcharged. At 50 dollars per head. Your better off saving your money and eating microwave heated frozen dinner. I have the stake which was extremely over cooked. Almost burnt. The quality of the meat was the poorest Ive ever had. The shrimp and lobster. Just plain yuck. Seems like its been frozen for a decade already. Scallops were pretty good. The veggies and rice are over seasoned. I guess they are trying to mask its poor quality. Even the ice cream they just got it all wrong. To top the poor quality of food. The chef or cook poorly prepared our dinner. It looked like a meal at my elementary school. Messy. I really dont think Ill even eat in a worse place than ichiban. Ill probably keep away from the other restaurants in harrahs.
The sushi was okay. Yet, the service was too slow, and the Itamae (sushi chef) had an attitude. He was so busy servicing the tables and we waited like 20-30 min for our next order. They should have more than two Itamae for the bar and one for the tables only.
I love ichiban sushi. It has its own unique menu, rolls that you cannot find anywhere else in Reno. The sushi chefs are very skilled. As long as you’re a Nevada resident the price is just your average all-you-can-eat sushi price. The only catch is that if you want all-you-can-eat (which I recommend), you have to sit at the bar. Excellent sushi!!
