Great Crust…. But pizza? I’m from NYC and it doesn’t qualify. Plus, I’ve never been asked what dressing I want with my pie… eh!
Went to JJs Pie Co after using the shake feature and it sent us there, and we are so glad we did. We ordered hot wings, a Hawaiian pizza and a couple of beers. We sat at the bar and had the nicest bartender. The wings were awesome (some of the best I’ve had in Reno) but were not hot enough for my personal taste. The bartender brought us Nitro sauce (the hottest) to try with the wings and they were way better. The Hawaiian pizza was to die for good. Awesome crust to cheese to sauce to topping ratio. The restaurant was a cool dive type place. We will ABSOLUTELY go back!
More please. Very unassuming place near downtown. Cold beer, warm and tasty pizza pie. I dream about their pizza! I’ll be back!
Yum!!!. I’ve been hearing about J.J’s Pie Company for as long as I’ve lived in Reno- longer than a decade. The pizza has been somewhat legendary among the college friends I had. I finally had the opportunity to try it and I am a fan. Thanks to the recent introduction of the single day coupon sites, I snagged a great deal and seized the opportunity and excuse to try them out. I ordered a large pepperoni and cheese pizza. The service was very friendly. I was greeted as soon as I stepped up to the bar. The atmosphere is very laid back, with a myriad of pinup posters tacked to the ceiling, a few older video games, mixed in with the large wooden tables and bar. Waiting for the pizza, I was able to play Super Mario Brothers on a quarter. After getting the order, I had to try it. I sank my teeth into the first bite and wasn’t disappointed. There was a hearty and savory sauce in abundance- I like a lot of sauce and this was perfect. The pepperoni was crisp and ripe with flavor .The crust was thin, but not soggy or limp- it was somewhat cripsy and still delicious. I soon finished off my first piece and said hello to round 2. While the pizza was a bit on the pricey side, this would be a cool place to hang out with the guys over a few beers, watch a game or just kick back. This experience was definitely worth the money and I think every person who claims Reno as their home should at least give this a try- a local legend doesn’t fail.
Just average….. Similar to most pizza places in northern Nevada and not all that exciting. Was ok. I have to admit, however, I used to live in Chicago, and NO ONE makes pizza as delicious as that! It is like pizza heaven and the varieties are all tremendous. JJ’s is typical of the western pizza, which is weird and has a lot of junk on it to mask the bland taste. Even thin cardboard New York pizza is better than this. Looks like we will have to order pizza from Chicago and have it shipped here if we want a really great pizza.
Awesome Pies. JJ’s Pie Co. has amazing pizza! Their pepperoni and vegetarian pizza are delicious. They have great mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, and wings. The atmosphere is nice–it’s a great place to grab some beer, pizza, and watch sports. I highly recommend there pizza, which they serve with a side of amazing honey.
