Oceano drowns in problems…. Ate there Friday night, around 6pm. There were many open spaces at the sushi bar. Curious for a Fri. night as there are only about 15 chairs there. It took FOREVER for us to get our first order. We purposely sat before a chef who had no one else to wait on, but he was busy making orders for the booth patrons. When he finally made our orders, he forgot half of my husband’s & he’d only ordered two kiinds of sushi. The rolls were just okay. The fish not outstanding at all. Very heavy on sweet sauces & mayo. I had to ask the waiter for a carafe of hot water to refill my tea, as he brought one cup & then forgot about me. Sushi is Reno is very competitive & obviously (from the empty bar seats) Oceano is not a favorite. Saw 3 other people come in & again wait FOREVER for their first orders. We will not be going to Oceano ever again. Peppermill needs to visit Atlantis and the Eldorado to see how other casinos are running their sushi bars.

Great sushi! Super nice service. My boyfriend and I went here on a whim and loved the all you can eat sushi. The sushi offered on the all you can eat menu is comparable in quality to the regular menu, included a large selection of rolls an nigri. Everything we tried was delicious and it also includes a large bowl of the best miso soup.

I hadn’t been here since they opened due to the fact that they didn’t offer all-you-can-eat, which is a standard in Reno area Sushi Bars. Now that they do all-you-can-eat, we decided to check it out for my birthday lunch. The service & food was excellent! Kristian is an amazing Sushi Chef…try his special seared scallop w/Japanese peppercorns in Misp soup…outstanding!

This place is so cool! decorated as if you’re under the ocean the cool blue neon lights make for a lovely atmosphere. we had a rainbow roll, mountain roll and a sashimi sampler. the fish was fresh and succulent, like a mouthful of fresh, sweet sea water. the summer dream cocktail was made with fresh mint and raspberries and was refreshing and delicious. prices were very reasonable for the excellent quality and portion size. the alcohol was expensive but worth it for the originality and fresh fruit in the drink. only two negatives here. that cool blue lighting made the sushi look, um, kind of brownish green. that was somewhat unsettling. also, though our server Angel was nice enough he had too any tables and service was almost painfully slow. we’re going back today for more sushi and some of the other seafood goodies on the expansive menu. two definite thumbs up for this place!
