—Nov, 2017 update: Senior alert! On Mondays, those of us who have achieved senior status can dine at any of the South Point restaurants for 1/2 points, an excellent bargain given the reasonable menu pricing at this popular cafe. We had a large lunch so we decided to dine late and lite. My wife chose a chicken Caesar wrap ($10.95) which came with a side of potato salad. The wrap tasted like a pretty good Caesar salad w/chicken. I went with a Monday only special, Island salad ($8.95) – diced grilled chicken breast with mixed greens, red and yellow peppers, scallions, mango, pineapple, and macadamia nuts that were tossed with a citrus vinaigrette and topped with croutons. The ingredients proved to be exceptionally fresh and the dressing achieved the appropriate balance between lightness and flavor.—-Oct, 2016 update – I have a long list of restaurants to select from when choosing a restaurant for dinner and the Coronado Cafe is not included. However, my wife’s stomach was doing the Texas 2-steps and her go to meal when not feeling well is scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. I considered our options and decided on the cafe because it was convenient to where we staying and we have a lot of slot points available. Her scrambled eggs proved to be just okay though the toast and bacon were good. My stomach, though protruding over my belt, was doing fine so I chose a Wednesday night $8.95 dinner special – western chicken salad bowl which included diced grilled chicken breast, chopped romaine Lettuce, bacon crumbles, black beans, and corn that were tossed with smoked ranch dressing and topped with a few fried onion strings. The bowl was generously filled and satisfying. Dec, 2015 – Given the number of times we have stayed at either the adjacent Grandview or in the South Point Casino, it is amazing that we have never dined at the Coronado Cafe. Well we scratched that one off my To Do list this afternoon by ordering bowls of French onion soup. I am always a little hesitant to order this particular soup because so often it is loaded with salt, but this version was salt lite and delicious.

Don’t Hate…. the Eggs Hate the Chicken. I don’t understand why people are being so negative about this restaurant?… what do you expect from a cafe in a vegas hotel? you can see inside, there are no walls. did you think you were going to a fine dinning restaurant? I only eat here for breakfest! D-E-A-LISHOUS! I ordered the egg/ham/beacon and cheese croissant and it was good. the crosissant is as big as a pancake and chess is dripping everywere!!! there is no lack of egg and ham either. the pancakes are good and the the french toast was great. this place has it together. everytime i come here there is a line but the attendance ask how many is in your party before you get to the front. the only this i would complain about is that they are slow. ther is just to many clients for the amount of people hearding in to eat.
