Food was so greasy and full of salt and/or msg it made us dehydrated. Still feeling kinda sick after 2 days. There are so many great places to eat at the Red Rock Casino, I don’t suggest going to this place. Won’t be back.
Room outshined the food. I had a MyVegas reward for 2 free lunch or breakfast buffet so we decided to stop in for breakfast before continuing on to Red Rock Canyon. I began with an assortment of fresh melon, strawberry yogurt and OJ. My second plate was limited to a Mexican tart topped taco meat and salsa on an inedible base. I fared better with plate #3 by ordering a thin spinach omelet, though the chef forgot the requested cheese, plus a dollop of corned beef hash and breakfast potatoes. Plate #4 consisted of a small taste of 2 salads, watermelon/tomato and a very blah, jicama. Overall I found the room out shined the pedestrian food.04 Jul, 2013Underwhelming. Our dinner choice was the recently re-introduced Friday night seafood buffet at Red Rock. I was conflicted because I like seafood, but a) I do not usually enjoy lunch/dinner buffets, b) seafood in buffets is typically overcooked and c) I tend to make a pig of myself at buffets. Thanks to a) and b), c) did not happen this evening. The variety of seafood offered was surprisingly limited and almost everything turned out to be overcooked. I started out with cocktail shrimp that were undersized and most likely farmed raised in some far away land plus a few oysters Rockafeller and hush puppies that were drier than dirt.Dishes were not turning over and when something ran out, the staff was slow to replenish. The one item that turned over quickly was the hot snow crab legs, but these were on the skimpy side and tended to be overcooked. I tried stuffed salmon that was very tasty, but it too was overcooked. The one seafood offering that was undercooked was manilla clams in a Thai green curry sauce with most of them being unopened and uneaten. I did not fare much better with cerviche nor veggies: a couple of half decent salads, overcooked broccoli rabe and Chinese broccoli that was tougher than Mike Tyson in his heyday. Shall we discuss the desserts? Suffice it to say, the best choice proved to be the ice cream.
It is OK. We have eaten here three times in the last six month since we moved to LV. I think I am done though. It is just bland. The chocolate pie is awesome but you can’t keep going to a buffet just for the desserts. 🙂 The price is great and if you are looking for a affordable buffet this is your ticket. Expect a line.
One of the better buffets in town. Good quality and a decent price. Look for discounts in the paper.
BEST of @stationcasinos Buffets @RedRockLV. Thats not saying a thing because I haven’t had good experiences at ANY of them. The food at each one is pretty mediocre and the lines are usually nuts, the service average on its best days and limited desserts. The decor here is the #1 thing-it looks nice. The food is still a bunch of drab bland stuff with a few good ones-I like the prime rib and salad bar beyond that NOTHING.For $18.99 for dinner I expect better-a little FLAVOR.08 Jan, 2009BETTER THAN MOST… It’s a station casino so expectations are low but its pertty cheap and it has a nice variety even if the quality still sucks. They have brisket & roast beef, chinese, southern, italian & pasta, dim sum, sushi, deep fried sushi, a nice salad bar with doup & sandwich fixins, dessert bar is subpar, service is very good but line is a good 20-30 minute wait.Filling but not real flavorful. Most of the eateries at the Red Rock don’t open til 4-5 pm so this place is nuts at lunch.
