We had an early dinner while the restaurant was half empty. Its decoration, lighting and set up makes a chilled atmosphere. We’ve started with a noodle&veggie soup which was large enough for two. They got few sake options, the one I chose was yummy. We’ve then tasted Tuna Sashimi and Unagi together with oyters. Can’t recall all as it was two months ago. Most of the dishes were fine Service was also OK. Prices were high as usual. I remember it was like $180 for two.
Good approach to Japanese cuisine.. The best plates at Japonais are those that combine French and Japanese cuisines (as one can infer from the name of the restaurant). Traditional Japanese platessuch as miso soup or makiare not extraordinary, but are really expensive. However, when they get creative, they do a great job.
