This place was great! The grits are awesome, good sandwiches, and the service was fantastic.
Best Breakfast. This place is a hidden Gem. Food is tasty, fresh and the combinations they offer are fantastic!:) letseatwithalicia.com
Best so far…. Their catfish is the best in Vegas hands down. Normally I have to put hot sauce on my fish but Gritz season theirs so well that I don’t need to add anything. The cafe is really clean and nice. All staff is very friendly. I love this place. All their food is good!
How dumb is this? I have to drive 20 miles to get to this place, so I call beforehand to ask what kind of grits they use. This is important to a Southerner They respond that they don’t give out that kind of info See you around the quad–I’m outta there.
Pretty good food, a little pricey. I’ve never been to a ‘soul food’ restaurant before and I’m not exactly sure on how much entrees are supposed to cost, but the prices of their entrees were priced between $10 and $15, about as much as an Olive Garden. There are smaller sandwiches for less than $10, but I’m not a sandwich type of girl.Nonetheless, I thought the food was pretty good. The catfish was delicious. I also had greens, but it didn’t taste as good as homemade. The cornbread was okay; I’ve had better. The waiters were really attentive. This could have been due to them being really nice or the place being super small; there were less than 10 tables. So, if you plan on bringing a big party, you might want to set up a reservation (if they take them) or just head somewhere else.I would definitely go back though. I want to try the rest of the menu and the people were very nice.
Great Food!. Great Service!
Fried Southern Goodness in North LV. I joined a group for brunch here last Sunday…THERE WERE NO MIMOSAS! It wasn’t going to be one of those kinds of brunches anyway…so I settled for fried catfish, french fries, waffles, and fried chicken. The location here is kind of funky…off a rather desolate strip of Lake Mead and across the street from a government building. But the restaurant is spanking clean and the decor is more pleasantly suburban than it really ought to be. With Southern cooking I like the cliched bad restaurant decor, with Aretha and Al Green playing in the background. However, they do keep the spirit true with plastic utensils.I only sampled a few items and I found them to be excellent. Fried catfish with a crispy cornmeal crust was great, the french fries were fantastic and plentiful, the fried chicken wings and waffles were pretty good. The dishes averaged about $7.50 each item, which I thought was a fair deal. During our visit many people were there enjoying the Louisiana style cooking, yet it didn’t feel crowded. Many folks were taking orders to go as well. If I come back for anything, it’ll be that catfish.
