Lone Eagle Grille. Having never been, we were not sure what to expect. They did not disappoint. The food was impeccably prepared and plated. The New York prime steak I had was wonderful with great flavor – very well cooked and served. My wife’s crab-stuffed Salmon with blueberries – nicely done, although it was slightly under-cooked (but only slightly). The wine list was obviously well thought-out with many of the expected varieties from Napa and Sonoma….to some really fine but somewhat more obscure labels from Mendocino, Chile, Australia and others. In addition, the service was excellent; the setting and ambiance was elegant and comfortable at the same time. The steak, although not in the league of an aged cut from Chicago’s Rosebud or the 5A5 in San Francisco was really well done and tasty. It was a nice experience all around. The dinner was a good value with a typical cost range for a prime cut steak – in the range of $45 to $55. My only complaint, and its admittedly a minor one, is that we saw too many people dressed as if they were going to lunch at a McDonald’s or Taco Bell – Shorts, t-shirts, flip flops. I’m not a big fan of overly-pretentious, stuffy environments, but a little respect for yourself and others would be nice to see once in awhile. Having been there once I can’t comment on their consistency yet. Overall – a fine experience and to be recommended.

Golden eagle margarita. Their signature margaritas go down so easy you won’t know how to fly home. Warning-you’ll want more than one-book a room ahead of time.

Excellent meat and great service! Michelle our waitress was spot on giving us time to enjoy drinks and recommending the right foods. Good lentil soup and butter lettuce salad. We had a filet wonderful bernaise sauce and the New York strip excellent! Brussels sprouts were just ok. And the hostess who we mentioned we just got married today told out waitress who brought us complimentary champagne to toast the event. And the manager also checked on us. Definately worth the month. Lovely lovely sunsetView too.

Ate our own caught fish @ LEGrill. We went to Lone Eagle Grill as the fishing charter capt we used earlier in the day has an arrangement with the rest. to cook fish caught on his boat. Of the 8 filets that were presented to the chef, the 4 grilled ones were way over done and the 2 pan roasted were perfectly cooked. All but one of the 6 was too overspiced for the delicate Mackinaw fish. They charged us $35 per filet to cook our own fish, whereas we have had same thing done at several other and much more friendly venues in past for about $15. (What happened to the other 2 that we did not get remains a mystery) The sides were great but the service was not…staff including wine steward, was arrogant, almost rude (maybe because there was a 10 yr old – she was well behaved – with our party of 6?). The place is too noisy for a real conversation so the overall atmosphere is ruined and the prices seem over the top even though the view is very nice. We will not be back !! There are many very good and even great restaurants in the area with great service and great food and atmosphere at better prices.

Where is the value. I understand that every tourist town has their major hotels parked within, but give not only those visiting our town a reason to come back, but the locals as well. Over priced and small portions I know has been trending, but please don’t cheat me on flavor. Nice views outside and decent wine list.

Food is pedestrian, but the overpriced drinks are great! Try the Golden Eagle.

The waterfront view is not the only star here. The Buffalo Two Ways is one of the best game dishes I’ve had. Don’t miss the Baked Tahoe either. Never seen a dessert disappear from the table so fast.
