When this restaurant first opened it was very good and I was eager to return. Obviously the management and staff have burned themselves out and lost the passion. The quality of the food quickly declined and became very lame. This place has so much potential but they have dropped the ball big time. I hope someone will pick it up again but I will not hold my breath.I have been back recently to give it another shot and the food was better but the staff still seems like they just don’t want to be there.

I got a beer quick, I finally got service when my beer was empty but by that point I already pissed!! Oh plus the bar top was sticky and gross!!03 Dec, 2010I love the old fire house building, and the bar is a firefighters dream with great guinness and a great bar tender!! Though I was a little disappointed with the food! There was something missing, the burger I ate tasted great but the plain bun it was on was a shaw’s special! However the fries were very good and there signature Guinness cake was amazing, especially warm! I will definatly come back!!
I’ll never go back! Ordered food by phone for pickup, was told 20 minutes. After arriving waited an extra 30 min to get my food. I checked the bag before I left to find out they forgot part of my order, a extra 10 min wait. I ordered the blackened blue burger well done. What I got was rare with only a tea spoon of blue cheese. The fries were stuffed in a styrofoam cup, mushy and under cooked, and that was just half of the order. I could have spent less and ate better food from McDonald’s. I’ll never eat here again.
Hamburger for Lunch. First time we went and I had a hamburger, which was so big we both could have had it and nothing else for lunch, it was delicious!!!! Everything is made on site which I think is wonderful. My second visit with a friend who had the onion soup which she didn’t care for, but I had a wrap which I really enjoyed. Like sitting in the main diningroom by the window so we can watch what’s happening in downtown Derry which needs to finish the facelift they started with the Benjamin Adams Memorial Building !!!! They need to look at Portsmouth as an example of what to do with the main st. We love Halligan’s except it is a little pricy!!
Average food at extraordinary price. Although the Guiness was exellent and served just right, the food was simply average. We had no outright complaints about our meals but nothing was particularly great. The biggest shock was was the bill, which for 4 adults and 3 kids was over $180. Unlikely we’ll go back for food, although we might go for drinks and music.
