Nom nom nom. Enjoyed lunch – and it always makes me happy to know local foods are incorporated into a meal. Pear bluecheese flatbread was quite yummy. The vegan chocolate cake and greek doughnuts Were perfect ending. I will certainly eat here again next time I am in town!
This is my favorite restaurant! The food is so unique and uses local ingredients; definitely worth every penny!
Food to die for!. This place is a MUST stop if youre anywhere near Manchester, for that matter anywhere within the state of New Hampshire! Last week my wife and I were doing a bike tour in New Hampshire and were looking for a healthy place to eat. What we found far exceeded our expectations! The Republic Cafe and Bistro not only is healthy but features great local produce with a unique flare. We also found their menu to have a wide variety of foods that could meet anyones specific nutrition requirements and to be very reasonably priced as well. The place is a little small, and as a result we were told it would be a 45 minute wait, after tasting how excellent the food was I would have waited 45 days! We opted to sit at the bar and enjoy the Falafel appetizer, and since it was happy hour enjoyed a couple of glasses of the house wine at half price while we waited! 15 minutes later we were seated in a booth. On the menu was a special, a carnival squash stuffed with a cumin and coriander seasoned farro, it was a deadly combination of spices and flavors. We also shared a bowl of their Moroccan Red Lentil Stew. Both of these dishes were not only hearty and flavorful but the servings were very generous. Their wine list although not very lengthy is packed with excellent selections that not only pair easily with their menu but are very reasonably priced. We selected the Macchia Mischievous Zinfandel and it went perfectly with our entrees. The staff was also very friendly, from the hostess who greeted us at the door, to Josh the bartender, to our waitress Jill, who was the best, to the owner Ed who walks around and treats you like family. This place was so good my wife and I stopped back in for lunch the following day before leaving town, and yes we made sure Jill waited on us again AND yes the food was just as amazing the next day! If that wasnt enough when flying out later that week we made a point to stop at their other restaurant located at the airport by gate 14, the Milltowne Grille. They take airport dining to a new level! The only thing disappointing about the Republic Caf and Bistro is that there isnt one here in Arizona! But the next time were in New England well be sure to find our way back. It was that good!
Repeat customers Food was great. Host was very friendly and engaging. Our server however was not the least bit friendly or engaging. Please clean the overhead fans We will be back, but there is room for improvement.
One of the best restaurants around!. Excellent menu–so many wonderful dishes to choose from, many with a creative, Middle-Easterny twist. Fresh, often locally-sourced vegetables and meats. Absolutely love their little appetizers like the curried cauliflower salad, hummus, and beet salad. Good beers and other fun, non-alcoholic drinks available like fruity spritzers. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the state. Go there!
How Great!. My husband and I went here tonight for dinner. It was a Monday night and they were packed (good sign!) And the owner made himself available to help his staff. I ended up talking to the owner a bit, and he was so friendly and informative and cordial, even though the restaurant was rocking busy. His wife came over and gave us some tips on our upcoming trip to France as well! This restaurant brings so much to the community. It is socially responsible but also DELICIOUS!We had: Kafta (lamb meatballs), mushroom bolognese, mussels, beet salad, steak frites, and vegan banana chocolate cake. Everything was fantastic! We will go back, and tell our friends!
