Having picked Fornelletto fairly randomly when booking my trip to Atlantic City, I really did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find that an elevator takes you from the noisy, smoky hustle and bustle of the casino floor to the restaurant, which is located on a lower level of the building and is completely isolated. The atmosphere is calm and casual, which was a nice break. The cocktails were delicious. For appetizers we tried to burrata cheese accompanied by summer squash. I did not think the two would pair well together, but it was absolutely delicious. For an entree I had the Sicilian Lamb, which consisted of a GIANT lamb shank, a spiral of lamb sausage and large side of spiced couscous. The food was well prepared and tasty, though there was way more than I could eat. Sadly, as we were going to a show following dinner, I could not take anything with me and it felt like a major waste of food. Regardless, I was very happy with my dining experience at Fornelletto. The waitstaff was also professional and very pleasant.
