So I’ve eaten a lot of sushi and I’ve paid a lot of money for my sushi (good or bad) and while the quality of the fish was quite good, the quantity for the price paid was disappointing. One of the most disappointing I’ve ever had. Even their roll menu was lacking. I want to see more than crab mix in my rolls. I don’t mind paying for a good roll with premium fish but there weren’t that many to choose from. If I’d known their spicy tuna wasn’t really spicy I may have made different choices. He nigiri fish was outstanding, just smaller portions than I’m accustomed to-but on the positive side, they did not overwhelm it with rice!! And while this is 100% my fault for not reading…..no alcohol, really?? Sake at a minimum is a staple. The staff was really nice, accommodating. Nice sushi bar, just a small place in general, but quaint and you could tell so by the clientele.

Still Good. Came here on a Thursday night and the sushi, the presentation, the decor, the staff was simply amazing! Not the cheapest place but you definitely get what you pay for!15 Jan, 2009Simply The Best. Awesome place, we eat there every week for lunch and the staff could not be any more friendly, the food could not be any more delicious, and the atmosphere could not be any more inviting. My personal favorite Japanese place in new jersey, and i have been to quite a few.

What the hell happened?. The first time my girlfriend and I came here, the sushi was pretty good. The second time we went… not great, but average. Service is not so friendly and a little awkward, but I just assumed it was a cultural thing (she didn’t speak much english). We were satisfied for the most part. Anyway, we came back a few days ago. All of the rolls we tried were mediocre at best and had no flavor (or overpowered by lemon, for example). I love to eat, and I decided not to finish my food because it was so bleh. My girl did the same, but then decided to try the sweet potato rolls. UGH. Weirdest ones I’ve ever seen… and they served it too hot, which she didnt realize until she bit into it. I mean, we should have checked, but I’ve NEVER been served sweet potato rolls hot so it was completely unexpected. The waitress saw the pain in her eyes and didn’t even apologize but chuckled instead. They also had no flavor (besides frying oil), to boot. We just wanted to leave as soon as possible. I wanted to leave my very own ‘sweet potato’ on the table for her tip, but I guess that’d be more rude than she was. Never going back, that’s for sure.

Typically very good food. But I’ve been disappointed lately by the customer service. Wait staff and management was unwilling to put together a beef teriaki meal for my son even when I stated that I would be happy to pay more than the regular childrens platter price. With no explaination for why a substitution could not be made, I am left to believe it was laziness or lack of concern. Oh well. If I were a restaurant owner I would never turn down an order for something we normally already made especially after to customer stated that price was not an issue. Sean and chuck work on your customer service skills.
