Great greek food. Can’t go wrong here…felt like I was back on vacation overseas
Good food, nice waiters, beautiful young hostess
Excellent Greek Food. My family has been raving about this restaurant for the longest time, and finally took me out for dinner there recently. The food was simple, delicious and authentic, just as Greek food should be. The roasted lamb shoulder special was deliciously seasoned and very tender. The grilled octopus was a little charred, thus leaving it a little bitter tasting, but it was still quite good. The service was attentive, though a little slow at times. But the restaurant was literally packed from wall to wall, with a line formed outside, so I cannot fault the staff too much. If you are in North Jersey and want some good, Greek homestyle cooking, stop in at Stamna.
Great first experience. I’ve heard great things about this place and finally got around to checking it out. First off, we received fantastic service. Our water glasses never went even close to empty through the course of our meal and we were frequently checked on by our waiter. Our appetizer, the ktapodi, was fantastic. The octopus was not rubbery and the charcoal gave it a nice flavor and sometimes crunchy texture. I ordered a special of red snapper with onions in a tomato red wine sauce and it was, while a little heavy on the oil, well seasoned and enjoyable. My friend ordered the seafood kebab and the swordfish that was on it was amazing. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our meal. The service was great, the atmosphere was lovely, the meal was tasty, and the portions were large. Definitely going back again.
This place is going down hill. This used to be my favorite restaurant but after making a mistake on the order I called to let them know and request that it be cleared up and all i got were excuses as to why it was our fault and was told that I do not order from the restaurant all of the time. He offered to send what I wanted but asked what it was, this is after I told him what it was at least 5 times previously. Horrible customer service and I would recommend you do not go unless you want to be treated poorly. Not too mention the food was cold and nowhere near as good as it used to be.
Im a greek im a cook too so i know when im eating good food! Everything was excellent you have to try the seafood salad!!!
Food delicious, Service awful. I ordered the gyro platter with potatoes and it was absolutely delicious!! Even after reheating leftovers, they still tasted fantastic. However, service was so slow and it wasn’t even a big crowd at the restaurant. It took our server at least 10 minutes to get to our table to take our order. After getting our food, not once did he come to check up on us or refill our water so I had to flag down the bus boy. Finally after 10 minutes of trying to get the server’s attention, I asked for the check and didn’t receive it until about another 10 minutes later. Most of the time spent in the restaurant was WAITING.
