  Lackluster. Last month I used a Living Social deal and tried the Verona Inn for the first time. I am just glad that I did not pay full price for what I considered as mediocre, overpriced food…had the quality been there the prices would have been okay. That is, EXCEPT for the Mozzarella Bites that I started with, in which you pay a steep $9 for six bites! I ordered a chicken entree from the specials list which consisted of grilled balsamic chicken with roasted red peppers, accompanied with vegetables and rice. Not sure if it was entirely due to the quality of the chicken that was used but the meat was not tender and juicy, and in my opinion the entree was blah. I am no fantastic cook but I actually make a very similar dish like this at home and get much better results! One thing that I found very silly and unnecessary was that the sides were served on a separate plate from the main entre, making it very awkward for the customer to go back and forth from one plate to the next…I am sure that with a table full of people this would be much more inconvenient. To my disappointment I instantly noticed that the rice tasted lame and boxed, and thought that this sort of establishment should know better than to do something pitiful like that. Although I do not think that the Verona Inn is up-to-par in both taste and quality categories I do give them higher marks for food presentation. My chicken dish looked very artfully composed and appealing. I just wish that the obvious time and care that the cook put into plating my entre reflected both better quality ingredients and recipes. The place is nice enough looking inside, although I wish the decor of where the two or three booths are in the bar-room had been carried into the second room, which in my opinion looked a bit lackluster. I do not care to ever return…I have had much worse, but there was just nothing stellar to note about my experience at Verona Inn.
