Bad to Worse. Came here for dinner on a week night after hearing this was a pretty decent local seafood spot. Atmosphere I would describe as a nursing home w/ a beach front view. I’ve ate much better food while visiting my grandmother though, so it is not entirely parallel otherwise. Aside from the young staff, my girlfriend and I were the only ones without gray hair, which is not an issue, but an observation. We started off w/ the nachos, which were middle of the road. The chips were on the salty side, but we were both hungry and devoured the whole thing, so it I’d rate that pretty decent. Entrees ranged from mid-high teens to mid-20’s price wise, which is not bad. I ordered the broiled seafood combo. When it came out, I could immediately tell it was going to be sub-par. The white fish was rolled like a stack of hay and had a muddy crab concoction smeared over it. The same crab goop was packed over the rubbery/tough inverted shrimp that they forgot to de-vain while they were at it. The scallops were undercooked (which is better then over), but were definitely not fresh. Nothing on this plate was fresh, and nothing tasted as it should, not even the mixed vegetables. I only ate 1/4 of the plate in fear I’d likely get very ill from this pile of dog poo they served me. My girlfriend ordered penne vodka, which appeared to be very thick, cooked down bottled/canned sauce w/ some frozen peas added.Fortunately for our waitress, she did not ask us how our meal came out or if we needed anything else. What was really the most shocking, was we got a to-go container for the penne, figuring it could possibly be doctored up, adding some fresh pasta, and maybe it would work for a lunch. We forgot the container on the table… walked 1/2 a block and turned back to pick it up. The bus-boy had already cleared off the table and they had thrown out the to-go box!!! Talk about appalling, I’ve left chain restaurants spending 1/2 the amount of money, and had waiter/waitresses chasing me down in the parking lot w/ my food if we had forgotten. I mean… at least have it put aside for if we came back in 5 minutes????!?!?!??So in conclusion, if stale/frozen food that is poorly prepared is not your idea of a satisfying meal, you should probably steer clear of this dive for anything other then a couple drinks if you are into the older crowd.
