Great food. Unique selections. Three course special was outstanding.
I have not been to the Merion Inn for a few years. It was a family favorite. I went tonight to celebrate my future husbands birthday. It was a dreadful experience. The waitress had a horrible attitude. I had made reservations and requested dessert with just one candle. Never happened. The food was not as good as it used to be. Very sad that a family tradition was ruined by. A waitress that obviously did not want to be there. We will never go back!
Great food with a wonderful atmosphere. The place to enjoy good food and drink and usually live jazz or piano. If you want to experience a meal in solitude – get a TV Dinner.
Good, not great. Nice place with decent service. Clams casino ap was so-so. Parmesan chicken special was boring and the couscous was blah. Crab imperial was delicious. Skipped dessert because I’d rather pay $5 for a Kohr brothers cone.
Great food and atmosphere . Take care to try dinner when its not so busy , perhaps midweek and/or early in the evening . Our waiter was really taxed on a Saturday night eight o’clock seating . Had the iceberg lettuce wedge to start , cold and crisp with a delightful blue cheese dressing . Tried the pan seared scallops , they were perfectly done served in a tangy sauce with butter lemon and paprika . Oh yes , one last thing , great draft Peroni in a frozen 1 liter glass at the bar .
Disappointing. I am local to Cape May. We selected the Merion Inn for our anniversary dinner. In the past we have loved the restaurant. However, we had an unpleasant experience this time. The bar was great, as always! But the food was disappointing. They were out of specials and steaks. According to our waitress this was because it was Sunday and they were closed the rest of the week. Our food was unappealing on the plate, the portions small and it looked like a side of mushrooms came from a can. There are lots of choices in Cape May for terrific food. We will think twice before going back to the Merion Inn.
We used to come here in the past an loved it but this time we had the worst experience. The waiter sat us at the wrong table and then the hostess came and yelled at us. The owner then came over and demanded we leave the table at once and said that they did not even has our table ready yet. both women has terrible personalities and made it am awful night for us. The food has even started to go downhill and the waiters are just young kids who know nothing more than the owner does bout customer service. We will never go back. there are many better places in town!
