I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place. I got the pulled chicken sandwich with mac and cheese and fries. The mac was decent and the fries were average. But the chicken was really gristly and the bread was dry. Not to mention, the place was absolutely dead at lunch time. You can definitely find better barbecue somewhere else
Southern Barbecue available in South Jersey! We had take-out & I have to say it was pretty good. The brisket was definitely the best great smoky flavor & perfectly sliced, really didn’t need sauce which kinda of defeats the purpose. Pulled pork was good & even better after the sauce was added. It’s nice you can choose your own preference of sauce ,sweet, vinegar, spicy or mix up your own creation. The ribs I thought were ok but to be fair I’m not really a rib person. The owner of the jersey location is a sibling of the owners of the original cafe in Little Rock Arkansas.
Finally gave it a try.. After riding by on route 70 for at least 100 times, I went in for take out. If the place looked more like a rib shack on the outside, I probably would have gone there earlier since my idea of good BBQ joints comes from TV. WELL, our food was fantastic and we loved the ribs and brisket. I believe the prices to be half of what you pay in Philly too. Example: regular platter with two sides and fabulous cornbread for yummy brisket $9.99Inside the place is casual and next time we will eat at the Hog. And you can BYOB. Bring your good beer and you are set.
Lackluster fast food BBQ. No pitmaster, no character, and no FUN. The last time I checked BBQ should melt in your mouth and shouldn’t be dry. Don’t waste your time!
